Ever since they went to the plastic end cap the exhaust has been a PITA to pack since the split is halfway down the silencer. Personally i prefer the stuff that comes in the mat (i use stuff that is a looser mat than the oem stuff), but good post nonetheless 👍 ill have to try mine without the wrapped mesh next time

Just a heads up for anyone needing to modify their clutch pack. 9.75-9.85 is quoted so often i recently modded my 2018 clutch to around 9.80 then found this information the next day.
which says that 9.8 would be beneath spec for the newest bikes. I didnt think the clutch changed so much over the years. Take what you want from it, but just a word of warning that the often quoted 9.8 may be going too far especially if you decide to sand down your fibres.
Still don't know why they don't make 1.9, 1.8 1.7 mm thick plates

67:1 is a good starting point. Don't think anyone runs 50:1 these days. Any good decent 2T competition oil is sufficient, doesn't need to be Motorex
-
Same flywheel weights on both bikes?

I don't think you can blame the pandemic on a lack of news reporting. When the world champion breaks his leg and it isn't reported here, i think the OP has a valid point.
Whatever the reason, id say 80% of the time i come here for the forums anyway, but it is nice to read the odd recent news article as well.
Facebook is where its at unfortunately, easier access, but then its also easier to access some bloke wanting to advertise his second hand set of golf clubs on the groups FB page. There never seems to be a successful FB group page for trials that has functioned like a forum. Ive yet to find it anyway

Slow action throttle probably the easiest and cheapest. Check what's on it now, white throttle tube is fast, black is slow.
-
NGKs are useless once oiled

In the picture you attached it says 4T 09->13 so surely that means its not a simple bolt on to a 2020

Thats not true. Don't ask me how long warranty is though lol. In america the official GG warranty is 30 days, not sure about the UK, but ive heard people get their GG fixed under warranty up to 6 months before the switch to KTM. That could be the specific dealers warranty though. Not sure who the official uk importer for GG is these days, used to be john shirt, but pretty sure he's not anymore. Also a damp van should not cause electrical problems.
I guess you could count yourself lucky you've diagnosed the problem if you do end up having to fix it yourself

You don't need to grind the riveted pin before using the breaker. Any half decent breaker will force out the pin as it is
-
When you buy a new chain and you need to shorten it to fit your bike
-
Didn't think trials was a big enough market for people to make copies!

Silicone spray is usually the go to for leaving a nice shine after a wash (gt85 is pretty popular) although it won't really remove any residual grime as you call it as it wouldn't be as liquid as wd40 (unless you properly douse it in it)
I wouldn't say the wd40 is actively dulling your stickers. Although the silicone can revive dulled stickers through scratches that looked beyond restoring

Motul 10W40 (what i use too) is going to make your clutch anything but snatchy. Switching to anything lighter will most likely make it more so
-
Gotta kick it from the very top too. If you depress the KS a few inches and kick from there, most likely it won't start. Unless you're tall this can be rather tricky with your left foot on the ground
-
Most trials bike come with regina as OE and if not maintained i wouldn't say they rust less or more than any other respectable brand of chain
-
I don't know, i think you would need a good bit of heat applied. And maybe don't do it while its on the bike, wouldn't want you breaking one of the mounting lugs
-
99 and 2000 had different exhausts. 01-05 all had the same exhaust and mudguards. You have the right mudguard for your bike. They did run close, but didnt obstruct as much as yours is. I think your exhaust has just had a good bend upwards over the years
-
Just from a 10 minute ride on a vertigo id say its geometry is more towards my GG than a beta. Pretty sure the betas are the steepest steering wise
-
I wouldn't worry about engine internals, although the gouging can get bad enough after a couple of years that you think the kickstart end piece might break off. Never has with me. My latest bike ive put a piece of heavy fuel piping over the kickstart as you said
-
Im surprised you need heavier, id say im about 90 kg and never bottomed them, then went to the techs and they are softer. Maybe the latter are more progressive. Anyways, jitsie used to make them, although don't list them on their site anymore.
https://www.thehellteam.com/40mm-marzochhi-heavy-spring.html
Heres a link showing what they used to be, but sold out on this site. Maybe worth contacting jitsie

If its free play you can reduce this at the lever with the adjuster, half an inch is closer to standard.
Or is it 1.25 inches of sponginess?
-
Not an expert on osets but running a 24v motor with a 36v battery will eventually burn it out. But since your problem coincided with the chain getting wrapped around it, it sounds like this has been the cause of some internal damage.
-
Not really. I always end up wearing a jumper or a thin fleece between my shirt and outer jacket. Even the professionals when training just seem to wear a hoodie or something so there must not be what you describe from their sponsor or else they would be wearing it.
I think jitsie do a gilet type thing that is supposed to add a bit of warmth without the need for being waterproof. Other than that i guess this here is as close as it comes

Just wear two of them lol
