  1. The reason stated above for bangor not running is incorrect newcastle the town, not the city no where in yorkshire was found suitable? Says who?
  2. I couldnt agree more. The whole idea of making sections that are more typical of spanish terrain than british terrain really annoys me, virtually to the point of why bother? Isnt the whole idea of a world series to produce a calender with varying terrain? It just seems to be "spainish like" terrain on repeat, and then everyone wonders why spain win everything. It reminds me of when the british mx gp moved from farleigh (100% grass) to hawkstone (100% sand), the dutch thought they had struck gold! bar Thorpe, the chances of a british winner at a british gp all but vanished! Just look how dabill went in a wet japan and imagine how he could go in a venue like hoghton towers. Dont we want the possibility of a british winner? because while we keep marking out sections for the spanish that will never ever happen. Everyone always goes on about when will bou or Raga ride the SSDT, and its a weekly joke at a local muddy trial, "i bet bou wouldnt get up that in the mud". Why not make them?! The british gp is our chance to mark out a proper british trial. What do we do, bring in big rocks and mark out indoor style sections. What a joke. All this pandering to the big wigs to provide facilities commensurate with the team's big trucks, just tell them in advance they are going to be parking in a grass field and if they dont like it, then dont bother turning up.
  3. Wavy discs are to clean the pad surface, because there is a leading edge to scrape the mud off. Ride through a muddy puddle and a brake with a wavy disc will return its braking efficiency quicker than a plain disc. Plain discs just accumulate a dirty scum on the braking surface. An increase in leading edge area also increases brake performance in the dry, because there will be an increase in bite, something required for low speed trials. Pad life and braking performance are usually inversely proportional, you cant have both. All of this depends how standard you want to keep the bike looking but IMO a wavy disc will provide better braking.
  4. If you are referring to the clutch centre bolt then no, your bike has a different clutch to a pro

    Advice 315r

not that local, but john lee is in northants
  6. While i love kawi green I find the vertigo's green rather unflattering, go figure
  7. What are you talking about I named 4 specific venues and one general...
  8. According to pons Fuji reported his minder for having a foot in a section on friday, so got penalised 20 marks
  9. As heffergm says 800 is more for motocross, 710 for trials. 710 at 50:1 would be more than enough, 800 at 50:1 for a 50cc is definitely overkill.
  10. I did answer the question, keep up Fort william bangor newcastle anywhere in yorkshire hawkstone thats just 5 off the top of my head, all better venues than the current venue
  11. Anywhere but there. There are many great venues in the UK, with next to no man made crap. Who really wants to watch that? While i know some cant provide the provisions needed for a world championship, some can. Whatever happened to hawkstone?
  12. Dont think it would be much of a loss, terrible venue. Give our lads a ****ing chance and go to a venue representative of british terrain!!!!
  13. LHM is fine, cheap as chips too
  14. The need for floating discs is so that the outer rotor can expand due to heat without warping. On most bikes the front brakes get a lot hotter than the rear meaning there isnt a great need for a floating rear disc. This is how it is on most road bikes, i imagine its the same reason for trials. The rear disc is also smaller so probably less likely to warp as well
  15. I never knew this. Is this too extreme the other way?? """ Things were looking good for Bristow to take the double victory, right up until the tenth section of her second lap where she was penalised five marks for walking the section, a practice which is not permitted in the European Championship. .""""
  16. Oh i totally agree, he gets away with murder 99% of the time. I only posted that because it was nice to see him getting a five for once
  17. Have a look at 17:30, bou gets done for a stop. Some observers just have the balls while others dont
  18. A dab for a stop, observers are just too scared to give a 5, especially to world champions. If its only a 1 the rules will be enforced more strictly
  19. To me this is part of trials, and i kind of hope it always will be. Thats the benefit of riding something last, and being able to slightly modify the section to suit a different line. If everyone rode the same line and conditions it would be boring. I must stress "slightly" though nobody wants heavy modification, and to me washing a rock with some water is ok, but not ok that its the minder!!!! Id much rather see this than Toni riding up a section, stopping for good 3 seconds and coming away with a clean, which he does on a regular basis
  20. I blame trialGP, they never addressed this issue at the start of the season. In my opinion the ideal rules are a dab for a stop. Theyve run these rules before at world and british level and everyone liked them. 5 for a stop is too harsh. The observer feels more confident in giving a 1 for stop, so the rules are enforced more strictly and the rider doesnt mind as much for being penalised for a 1. It also allows a rider to stop to get that section that may have been marked out a little too hard for non stop. Its the perfect halfway house
  21. Think i preferred the FIM videos from previous years, twice the length, better camera work, production, and commentating
  22. Luckily they gave credit! lol
