    What I do know is the 230 uses a longer stroke/aftermarket crank available 20 yrs ago. The only gearbox I heard about is the Golner ones again from back in the day with closer ratios I believe, first to second anyway. There is a nice modified 200/ 230 on www.shedworks.net

    Yamaha TY 250 mono on ebay item no 260361410268. Anyone know anything about these, also mention of a new exhaust system coming out ?? Sorry I can't do link it doesn't work .

    I had an AXA savings plan. It was losing money like no tomorrow, had to weigh it in early lost over a grand. They are shysters. As we found out recently a lot in their game are. I would get better financial advice from my dog.

    Good idea. Choose your sport and download required book. No need for all that other scrambling and road racing mumbo jumbo and save some trees. Jobs a good un. If John Collins is looking in maybe worth bringing up next time you're up there

    Looks like he was on the Suzuki in 1980 and 81. On other bikes after that. Info from The Scottish 1963 - 1989.By Tommy Sandham and John Dickinson. No pics unfortunately.

    No I haven't done it but I know someone who has on a 250.I was told about a 250 using 5 gaskets. 2 gaskets would be fine, I wouldn't use silicone, make sure the surfaces are very clean. Chain needs to be same tension as normal, but you need some slack as you are in effect raising the head slightly. Tension it as normal making sure it is not too tight. Thanks for the part number.

    Not of much interest to this 45 year old either. So much unwanted info, would be a good idea to opt out. I am sure if there are talk of new/ changed rules it would soon crop up on here.

    Increasing the base gaskets will help, this is a common mod on a 250 to soften the power. You will want some slack in the cam chain and don't run it too tight as this can damage the head. Are rings still available? I need some in my 200.

    The 240 I have been offered may have the wrong motor in it then. The bloke was a bit vague and was sure it kicked back and not forward. Still waiting for pics from him.

    Did they change much over time, was there a forward kickstart and back kick type. I don't know a great deal about Fantics, I have been offered a 240 pro, not seen it yet, it needs work but is a runner. I do know they reckon they are the best out of the crate twinshock there is though ?? Having said that people are still tweeking footpegs, steering angles etc. Also top yokes I see. Thanks . PS. I have just realised this thread is 3 years old.

    Four stroke finale. The Honda trials story is available on ebay now. There are a couple of pics of the Hondas in there. No talk of a 250 version though. Looked like they were built around 79.(unbelievably 30 yrs ago) Looks like starting life as XL125/185s of the day with 150- 220cc variants. I think yours has been doctored to take the 250 motor. I would be tempted to doctor it back to take the 125/185 motor agian if it was mine.

    I'll 2nd that. They are usually available on the bay. When walking the section if that brook has a deep hole and you step in it and water goes in the top of your boots the goretex hold it in as well as keep it out. Been there done that.......... More than once.

    I am running WES at present, recently bought a stock system, not fitted it yet. They do say it is hard to beat, except for weight difference. Will give it a go first.
