Pity to paint that tank really. Personal choice on the colours. Where are you going to put the battery. Is this your day job doing this kind of thing. Looks good.

Probably filling the Post office with all the stators they send out.
  3. It was 2008 not 09. Please try to keep up.
  4. Hello OTF, if you have seen it at your mates place then it is obviously in use out there. "They" will say it is an up to date version of advance/ retard lever of course. Personally I wouldn't get involved with Pre 65 route myself, don't get me wrong I like to see them out there but not for me (maybe a trick bantam if pushed) but the politics is unreal if you are a tidy rider at a serious event. Whilst observing at Wye Valley road trial a couple of months ago I did spot a very light Ariel go through my section from up north shall we say. I did in fact observe 2 sections on the day but only saw him at the 1st, ignition failure I think was the reason why I never saw him at my 2nd section, and I bet it wasn't points,
  5. Obviously some 08s left over. Only a couple of 125s left apparently. Was chatting at a trial today and they are not rushing to bring anything over due to the strength of the Euro. I would say 09 will see the last of the a/c. Yamaha moving to w/cooling they won't want to be stuck with a/c stock.

On the rare occasion that a trailbike class is run in a trial the Beta alps and the like have elec starts. Not taking the mick I just bet someone will have a whinge you know what folk are like. It will be well worth the wait especially if you have a dodgy knee. I damaged mine earlier in the year in a trial.... not good. Keep the pics/ update coming,

Looking good Jon. Electric start in the sections will be handy.
  8. Forgot to mention the clutch thing. A CR80 MX clutch is the way to go on a 250 wholesale. There may be something better now ?? Woody I sold a Tlr 250 a couple of wks ago req rebuild with motor in bits to someone that knows you, helps set out Miller rounds I think he said.
  9. I believe it is to stop the front end lifting as well as the swing arm mod. Another non related one to soften the power is to fit 3 base gaskets to lower compression. I have ridden a mates with the gasket mod and it really was soft compared to standard.

He won't have his camera yet. He is waiting for the bloodbath sales in January to get a deal on a camera I believe, just before another High St name goes to the wall no doubt. Get it spent, you can't take it with you.
  11. I have a 200 that has longer shocks which gives the same effect to steering angle also lowered pegs. I bought it like it and it steers really well (pity I don't ride really well) I thought the 250 needs a longer s. arm to stop the front end lifting ?? You can buy a peg lowering kit that is a bolt on set up, sensibly priced. A mate of Woodys sells them. There is an in depth look at modifying 200/250s on Classictrials web site.

That one on ebay is for a twinshock, I think our mate wants a mono one.

Try Bat motorcycles London. They order parts for these from Japan Google them for contact details/
  14. I had it,it does take time and rest it etc. My O H thought she had it (diagnosed) and it turned out to be a spine problem that flared up in the elbow. Pro lapsed dics, that was 2 yrs ago it's better but not 100%. Does he do a job that causes repetetive strain injury ??
  15. Looks like the bloke in blue is having a ****
  16. Scorpa 125/ 175 4t all day long. Easy to maintain, no radiators to mess with, and second hand are sensible money now.
  17. Used ebay as a shop window until the right offer came in, that is why the mobile number was in there. I do it myself, it saves on end of sale rip off fees.
  18. Saw a name on the number plate of a bike back in the day. WADDACK HUNT MOTORCYCLES LTD.
  19. Any one else picked up on the user name and area where the bike is ???
  20. Christmas is one day. December 25th. Sale ends 21st so it's not Christmas.

The photo is in the front of Four Stroke Finale book. Also there is another TL250 on the bay now. I know where there is one that is stripped, if it is still there.
  22. I agree, but the bottom line no one is shifting cars. I drove by Avonmouth docks a couple of weeks ago and there are hundreds of cars sat there. They will probably be unsold for a while as well. I used to watch rallying on tv but it went the same way as other sports after they start throwing big money at it. Things are going full circle now, it will be interesting to see where it goes and who survives among the manufacturers as even the likes of Ford and G M are in trouble. As for the money they have thrown at F1.... crazy. (and football)

I am sure if you have set up Paypal you can buy from anywhere in the world ? Get a quote for post as it could be more than the s. arm ? In UK try Ellastone off road (google for number) another is D and K they have huge stocks of stuff from the USA and have sold TY's recently so may have broken some ? Try a wanted ad in the classifieds on here on front page.

I emailed him to see if he had anything else and then through another sale he had to ask if he sold the tank and no replies either. If all you need is a swingarm it is a std Yam ty item try the breakers ??
  25. andy m replied to woody's topic in Yamaha
Thanks Woody. I think I will try to find a std alloy tank. If it's possible to break a fibreglass one I guarantee I would break it. Never done a road trial but after observing at the Wye Valley trial recently I fancy having a go, and the Majesty is registered.
