  1. Ralph had abit of a nightmare starting his 07 4rt just before a trial recently, he kicked the bike over the night before to make sure his spanner work had been ok and killed the engine before the fan kicked in .Next morning no amount of kicking or new plugs would fire her up, thankfully a rider nearby told him to hold the throttle wide open, push the kickstart down slowly three times then kick it over, fired first go not sure why but expect it reset something
  2. Make sure you check the tick-over is at least 1850rpm and you have free play in the throttle cable, dont touch the throttle when you start it at all and leave it on tickover until the fan kicks in.
  3. Hi Adam, Brums nice and central for quite a few places, as GIZZA5 says Earl Shilton is a great club that caters for every level of rider and Iam pretty sure runs four routes at their trials, they have an event a week this Sunday (23rd) at the Yennards. 50 quid a year to join which gets you a key to the site where you can go legally anytime you like and its a great bit of land. Hawks Nest near Buxton is well worth a trip but can get pretty bleak in the winter, huge rocks on the side of a hill and great stream sections in the valley. Theres a couple of places just east of Cheltenham off the A40,(Aggs Hill/Killkenny) again legal and well worth a days practice, and also Top Farm near Broadway, pm Scorpa3 for more details. You have Dudley,Bewdley,Statford clubs etc near you so you wont have any problem doing events most months, have a look on the ACU website for club listings near you. Think I had a JTX 270 years ago, good bike from what I remember
  4. Let us know if it wan*s fuel out like the 03,04,05,06,07 and 08 Heath
  5. Got my first bike when I was 14 (Mont Cota 172) competed in schoolboy events for three years and packed up at 17. Used to ride Heart of England Trials,Banbury Nobac,Redditch and Dudley and had in that time the Mont 172,Mont 248 ,Mont 200 and an CCM Had a few years on the road on an RD 125/250 untill about 20 then tramped round the country helping brother with his Road Racing career, didnt return to bikes untill I was 30 when I got a Fantic 301 (i think) Entered the Hurran Trial on the hard route 2 weeks later and soon discovered just how much trials had advanced as well as the bikes (first section) and soon moved to a JTR 250 after abit of saving up. Rode Gassers for about three years then packed again up due to work and a new business, been off and on Trials bikes for the past ten years diverting to Enduro/Hare and Hounds/Road Racing and a brief spell of Karting. Came back to Trials three years ago and have never enjoyed it so much. Had Rev3's,Sherco and Gassers since then and currently ride a 4RT which is mega fun, really enjoying my Trials the past few years, got some great mates to ride with and we travel about a fair bit doing the road events. Out of all the bike sports I,ve tried Trials is without doubt the best fun and a great laugh and a hell of alot cheaper than the others.
  6. Black women all over the world have been shaving their pubes off today in support of Obamas victory. Their message to the world.... ... ... ... ... "Read our lips, No more Bush"
  7. Move your bars either away from you or towards you, if this doesnt help they may be too high or too low, cant say without looking at the bike or how short/tall you are. Could also be your levers are too upright
  8. Blow the grip on with an air line only, if it ever moves just lock wire it
  9. Your just rubbing it in now Pete
  10. Dad, will you ever ride anywhere else than the dishes? theres a big world out there mate and something called Trials Events too

  11. I found my Sherco surprisingly well put together, cant knock them for that, feels like a push bike in size and weight, the Betas seem to be getting ever more fragile these days, got a few mates with them and they all have problems from Stators, woodruffs and casing destruction 07's and 08's. Never owned one but I have rode the Scorpa and its a nice bike and very well made, some bits are awkward to service but its something that doesnt need doing as often as many other bikes. I would love a Gasser again but I know I will get the bad one out of the batch so no chance, probably the nicest ride of all the bikes. The Mont isnt for everyone but is by far the best made, most reliable and requires next to bugger all maintenance compared to any two stroke. Yer the Monts big and heavy but thats what makes it so stable and the suspension is something else.
  12. The caby is a nightmare to set up on the carb, slight change in air pressure and its ****ed if you havent already got some its worth buying the Jitsie carb adjusters, makes slight alterations to the carb during the day easier. I used 3/4 of a turn out with a 42 pilot jet, I did a post (long un , mainly down to copey and baldilocks padding it out) called sherco virgin, lots of info on my caby there
  13. I've busted plenty of normal blocks on rocks over the years but the X block has outlasted any standard one, yer maybe a bad batch
  14. X-bloc has worked really well for me this year, hardly any wear and havent bent a tensioner since its been fitted, far better product then standard blocks
  15. Nice one Ishy, shall I mail that on to the old gal
  16. This is a cracker I am Mrs Shelly Brown from Netherlands,I am 58 years old,i am deaf and suffering from a long time cancer of the breast ,from all indication my conditions is really deteriorating and it is quite obvious that i can't work or do any stressful thing, according to my doctors they have advised me that i may not live for the next two months, this is because the cancer stage has gotten to a very bad stage. I was brought up from a motherless babies home was married to my late husband for twenty years without a child ,My Husband (Kenneth Brown) died in a fatal motor accident Before his death we were true Christians. Since his death I decided not to re-marry,I sold all my inherited belongings and deposited all the sum of $8.6million dollars with a Security Company in United states of America .Presently, this money is still with them and the management just wrote me as the true owner to come forward to receive the money for keeping it so long with attract a demurage fees as the security fees paid by me has expired or rather issue a letter of authorization to somebody to receive it on my behalf since I can not come over because of my illness or they get it confisticated. So instead of getting it confiscated i rather have someone whom i can trust to recieve the funds and utilise it according to my wishes. And the best part of it is ,The security company told me in the letter that they can have the consignment funds delivered to my approved next of kin in his house if within USA or transfered to his bank account and if outside USA then transfered to his or her bank account. Presently, I'm with my laptop in a hospital in Frankfurt Germany where I have been undergoing treatment for my sickness . I have since lost my ability to talk and my doctors have told me that I have only a 2 months to live. It is my last wish to see that this money is invested/donated to any organisation/buisness of your choice and distributed each year among the charity organization,E.g the poor homes, the motherless babies home where i came from, the deaf homes, and churces etc .All i seek for is a God fearing person like you ,who will carry out my last wishes and before i emailed you today i prayed and the holy spirit gave me the confidence to send you this email.I took this decision, before i rest in peace because my time will soon be up. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the Security Company in the USA. All i need from you is a confidential assurance that the funds when recieved by you will be used for the said purpose,Nowadays there are so much scams going on in the internet and it is diffcult to trust but i dont know why the Holy spirit still approved me to email you about this out of few email addresses i have from the internet, yours was the only one that was approved for me to contact. Waiting for your reply. Yours in Christ, Mrs. Shelly Brown
  17. I,m with fellonmelug, my 07 has never let me down, runs the same every time I go out on it and you hardly need to do any maintenance on the 4rt compared to a 2 stroke, biggest plus is the grin factor when you fire it up. I would gladly pay the price for a new one if I had the spare cash at the moment.

Ben, when you bend the small tab on the new plate be real carefull not to bend the tangs themselves by doing it, from what i remember i laid the plate on a flat surface so they couldnt be moved and pushed the tab with a screw driver to bend it. The new height for the tangs are shown in my picture

Ben, that float tang looks seriously bent? heres a link to what it should look like if youve got a Mikuni Pic scroll down untill you get to the pictures, looks to me as if the tangs have been bent upwards to get the float height instead of the small central tab, I would order a new plate and set it right
