  1. Oh yes, it will be mine and this un
  2. Hi Darren, I bought my 4rt second hand so not 100% on the running in bit, expect keep it from flat out for a while and dump the clutch and engine oil after a few hours, possibly the filter as well. I use Repsol engine oil, seems good and change it once a month. Elf in the clutch and change it every six years (2 months) always seems clean when I dump it out. Always used Super unleaded so dont know about normal, expect it would be fine but why take a chance over a few pence, not done the oil filter yet but will be this month. One other thing, the 4rt loves new or good tyres, if this is your first grip may be a problem in very slippy conditions, you will learn how the 4rt grips so stick with it and use good tyres, I think many people swapped their Monts too early before learning how they grip, they grip like f**k once learnt. Keep the tickover high, it helps with starting/charging and stalling, keep a check on it regulary. Jitsie filters are good and you can bin the standard filter and flame guard if the 08 is the same as previous models. The Mont is without doubt the best bike I have yet and the most fun I have ever had on a Trials bike, struggled with grip early on and to be honest it has taken me 6 months to get the hang of very slippy going but its been worth it. Start the bike with no throttle and when cold never touch the throttle untill the fan kicks in Good luck
  3. Is it abit like watching a cow playing a banjo kinell
  4. Land it with the back brake on, makes a better landing for balance, on the move or stationary kick your hips over to the side you want to go quickly, best done once the bike is in the air as its light off the ground. If you find you are loosing balance on landing move the front to compensate or a small rear hop to regain your balance
  5. Nice one Pete and make sure that undercut steps got a bloody good kicker before it (3 foot ramp)

    4rt Fan Help

Check your coolant, if its well low the fan may keep going as there isnt enough water to keep the cylinder cool, not sure about the cut off switch
  7. Your running the risk of burning the fan motor out if you keep it on all the time,ok in an emergency but could be alot more expensive than sorting the original problem out
  8. IRC I would say, bit of a no win with the wear though, the harder the tyre the longer it will last but less likely to grip the best in most conditions
  9. IRC for plenty of mud and the odd rock, can roll on rocks though Dunlop for streams, sharp rocks and any conditions you want to avoid a puncture, dont like the grip a Dunlop gives on rocks not as good as a mich but a must up North, can be run nearly flat no probs, can be a git to get on the rim. Mich, best all rounder, run at 3-4.5 lbs getting bloody expensive these days though. Only my opinion no-where near gospel
  10. As Brian says, big thanks for the pics and results every night, really appreciated Perce had a good ride Brian does that really say Homo on Ragas back?
  11. Big thanks Stu great to keep an eye on how the lads are doing What happened to Dabster today? Perce still going strong
  12. look in trials reviews forum mate, all on there
  13. I see Perce and Dabster are having good rides as well as Mike James who would have been well up there if he hadnt have had a slack five late on. Weather was great yesterday from what Ive heard hope it stays that way. Dad had to retire mid trial yesterday due to bike problems but will hopefully be out manning a section for the rest of the weekend.
  14. Cant see me ever swapping back to a 2 stroke price or not, the 4's are great fun to ride
  15. As if they havent got enough to do but does anyone know when and where they might be shown if its going to be the next 3 nights
  16. Definately try as said above waiting untill the fan kicks in before touching the throttle, if i dont on mine it instantly fouls a plug or runs abit ****e, no idea why it works but it does.
  17. I'll stick the Legend in the Hard route then Pete, think I'll do the B route this time still have nightmares about that drop off on section 1
  18. saved it but it wont play any video (sound only) cant you stick it on youtube?
  19. Dont forget to tighten ya spindle at the TT
  20. Bit of both for me Pete, I love doing a good trial especially a road one, or somewhere with good ground. We are abit spoilt around here as we have a few good practice sites locally and dont mind driving 150 miles to go and ride in Wales or Hawks Nest for practice. Dad is now so old he only rides at the dishes and has no interest in events anymore but you cant find anyone who loves riding his bike more than him, plus he doesnt think he can hold a s**t in for more than two hours so it gets abit awkward for him doing events. Practice days with a few mates is always a great laugh and usually gives a much longer day on the bike without any pressure of comps, I think the current fuel prices and uncertain climate work wise is putting people off events, I think the Dave Roland entry list was lower than most years today. Also when you go to the dishes you always get fresh free range eggs from Farmer Giles, one of Dads BBQ's , sometimes a good old scrap and we were spoilt today with a display of extreme tree climbing
  21. Throw the Champion in the nearest bin and get an NGK, always used the BPR5es in the 270's and works really well
  22. nice one Irishman goes for a job on a building site, foreman asks him whats your name, Paddy Mulligan he says, the foreman says how do you spell it, Paddy says "Stick your ****ing job up ya a***"
