evo main bearings
Myself, I just got 6206 c4 bearings and opened them up. I went ahead and got the Beta seals along with the gaskets. This sealed main bearing thing is BS. That is what the 2 stroke oil is for.

Plug fouling
I would go back to when the carb clean as done. Did you do it yourself? Something happened. Carb in crooked not letting the choke return, bent the tangs on the float, left a jet loose, slide needle installed incorrectly(the needle is floating), choke sticking, gasket on seat has swelled, dropped something into a reed. Lots of little things could cause you all this grief. Running 70 to 1 should not be a problem. And I usually ran a bpr5es, I always seemed to have that heat range filling my parts bin.

GasGas - expected life of water pump and thermal switches
My `04 Raga went 11 years before it needed a pump and shaft. That poor bike was ridden to death and is still around.

‘18 popping out of gear
Actually I had your same attitude about the change of gearing. It has been a long road to finally make me happy. The bike came with a 10/42, tried 9/42, went back to 10/42, then went to 11/42 which I liked and then bit the bullet going to a 10/39. After being totally disgusted I woke at 3am one morning and crunched all the gearing ratio`s into a graph and ended up with the 9/44. Which somebody had suggested a year ago. (Like you I replied, not ME) And now completely happy with it. I even rode a Montesa 4Rt for a week. I rode it hard and even spent a few days setting it up for me. My thoughts soon vanished of riding that fine oinker. So being a happy beta rider for several decades, I never had a Beta jump out of gear. I must be lucky or just stupid. By the way I always remove the tip on the gear shift as it is just in the way and the folding tip is some fools gimmick.Too many moving parts wasted there!

‘18 popping out of gear
The reason for changing the gearing is first is useless. (Unless you are riding Novice) The change makes 2nd the first gear and third the same as stock second. If you ask around, shifting up to third and back down to second to keep from hitting a false nuetral has been used for a long time. Good luck.

Setting Race Sag? '17 Raga (Reiger)
And now you need to ride for a month to break them in and then actually start setting up the suspension. We should have a new rear spring by the end of the week for my son's new 300rr. We are betting the front will be fine. Time will tell. Good luck on your new bike. My son rode his in some large rocks yesterday and just loves it. By the way setting a bike up to Raga's settings will do you no good as he rides with different forks and rear shock. Stew is a good guy though.

‘18 popping out of gear
11/42 gearing makes for a pretty good 1st but 2nd is way too tall. I have used atf in my Beta"s since "89. No problems.

‘18 popping out of gear
Another thing that might help is a gearing change. I am now running 9/44, with the intent to use second as the all around first gear found on most modern bikes. This puts thrd exactly were 2nd was with stock gearing. So for you, you could shift to third and back down to second. No nuetral problems.

‘18 popping out of gear
Put an AJP M/C on it Dan. Everybody should keep a spare old m/c around just for this instance. Changing to lighter springs could solve this also. Wish I could just tell you which springs, but I had a gas gas 160 motor laying around and used the clutch springs out of that cut to length. Lightest Beta clutch ever and still hooks up. Good luck.

TR34 Electrics
Have you pulled the flywheel yet? The early Beta's would shear the flywheel key on a regular basis.

Keihin Jetting for 300.
My son just got a 2018 300rr two weeks ago. The dealer had put a 120 and a 58 in it. It ran well, butmy son needed it to betterĺ, so I dropped it to a 52. In your case there isno reason not to try a 50. All bikes have there own personality. ,

Sherco hunting!
Nice post Neb, are you feeling ok? What year Sherco and what carb?

Keihin Jetting for 300.
The clue would be even Arnoux is telling you a 45 is too lean down under.

Setting Race Sag? '17 Raga (Reiger)
Hopefully you did not get heavier fromt springs , as stock they work very good. The biggest thing on a trials bike is the front and rear need to work together.

1994 GasGas JT25 Contact
Do a you tube search of Jim Snell gas gas video`s. The bike is pretty much basic two stroke, except the clutch pressure plate only goes back on one way. It is marked with a notch if my memory is right.

Setting Race Sag? '17 Raga (Reiger)
The bike works well, stock out of the box. You never said how big you are. The rear shock is fairly soft. You might crank it up two turns if you are 220 plus. Other wise the suspension needs to break in. One or two rides is not enough. The bikes works very well , so just enjoy riding it for awhile.

Keihin Jetting for 300.
At 6500ft in the USA. 120 main 52 pilot. Chances are the pilot is too lean.

Idlling ideas
By the way you can order the seal for the jet tower from OKO carbs. Slightly larger and seals better. And yes when the passages are bad the ildle will search. Pull it apart.

Decent trials tyre
Maybe a Shinko as they are a strange shaped tire. SR 241 series.

2010 Sherco 290 help required
Mains and the rod bearing would make noise just running. Pinking it could be, but the fuel pump could just be going lean with an air leak. It is a crap system only found on the Sherco. (Unless you count snowmobiles.) i would use an auxillery fuel tank just to rule out that whole system.
