So they were fixed at what month?
-
Being they never had an engine of their own till now it is hard to say. But Scorpa today is doing well. More popular than ever.
-
He asked about a Scorpa, not a 25 year old Yamaha. I thought maybe he updated.
-
Crap brakes like everyone else. I threw away my brake techs and use the ajp`s off a 2005 4rt.

Actually no, the trials bikes in the last couple of decades are not made to submarine through water like the days of old. Several things have happened. Most clubs in there land use do not ride in much water as they used to. The premier World Champions seem to cringe at a good wet and muddy event. And mainly the water cooled princess of bikes we ride now cannot take the abuse. Ever seen a modern bike try to cross a cold deep water stream? You have a real good chance of the cylinder cracking and locking up the motor. Trials and the bikes are not as tough as the events of old. By the way. Just run the bikes after a good wash. Also most owners manuals state this fact.
-
` I am new to trials seen. I have a Enduro and motocross background .` Try riding it first. A soft suspension is actually preferred in trials. Once you learn to be a trials rider, a newer bike would go much farther than throwing parts at it. I am am not saying spend much money. Ride this one for six months, if you like it upgrade for about a thousand bucks difference.

If it looks like a lower case bolt, that is also the drain.

The mod was for the rev3 4T. You need to remove the muffler and the rear shock. Also make sure the intake boot is ok. They tear easily.A 125 main and a 27.5 pilot should eork depending on elevation. This would be the time to install the thumb screw.
-
-
Was the bike ever jetted? You need a Jitsie thumb screw adjuster.
-
118 main and 52 pilot for 6000 ft. Have you joined RMTA yet. You know there is a National the 28th and 29th of April at Texas creek. Close to Howard Co. They are needing scorers. Scoring a National is the best way to get in the action waist deep. After scoring all day come by the Team New Mexico pits and I will buy you a beer. Just ask for Lineaway, they will point me out. I will be riding.
-
The bike comes lean jetting wise. While you are in there you get to see if the intake boot is torn or not installed correctly.
-
Grease it well going back together. Last one I did came out hard.
-
Fix the overheating first. Then pull the clutch apart. Chances are you need new friction plates.
-
Hate to say check compression. We have quite a few 4rt`s with way too many hours on the original piston.
-
Most everyone throws away all that wiring before they ever ride the bike.
-
Coolant cannot flow to a full cavity. It was air locked. Most systems have an air bleed. You could always bleed from the thermostat in the head. I till think it is strange that you have a clutch cable. If you looked at that manual it only showed the hydraulic parts, no clutch arm on the engine either.
-
Use a feeler gauge to clean out the seal. You have to remove the dust seal first.
-
He needs to buy the new Super Smooth. I rode a brand new 2018 last week. More like super slow, like the bikes 40 years ago.
-
Taking two springs out always comes with slippage. If you only ride around in first and second gear all is good for the most part. If you ride hard or any kind of loop it is worthless. The first time you hit something steep and the clutch lets loose, I hope the results are not too bad (Just like hitting nuetral). The factory puts in a full compliment of springs for a reason.
-
Off a 160 gas gas, but I did have to shorten the springs. Spring companies do make springs to order, but tend to be cheaper in lots of 100. Years ago the bike shop that I worked at had a spring tester. That would be handy now.
-
The 1993 was an hydraulic clutch. What color is the bike?
-
Make sure you use it in the tranny too.
-
Best way is to find lighter springs. And no I did not do all the work for you. My `16 Beta 250 I used Gas Gas 160 springs, no slip and the lightest clutch feel on the planet. No lie, everyone that tries it cannot believe it. I had too as I cut the tendon off in my clutch finger last year.

There are many more places for the moisture to enter the engine than the exhaust tip. All the plug does is try to keep the packing from getting wet.
