  1. A few are trying to mix business with the pleasure of the many, the beginning of the separation sounds good to me. Give em their own sand box and let em get on with it.
  2. Think they have one sorted for Japan, it states it is the 2010 model

Tomsdad, I mentioned that a couple of years ago, but teams of two riders, 50 places would then allow 100 riders to do half the trial each. I got shot down on that one too. I can see that there is no reason to change anything when the event has been oversubscribed for the past ten years, they must be doing summat right, if it isn't broke don't fix it. Will land use or getting enough live bodies to man the event come before the entries dry up to the point it's no longer feasible, probably.

I think they did have a class/award for twin shock in the mid nineties, I remember Mick Andrews riding a TLR 250, think the class was dropped not long after that due to lack of interest in it, seen a few old bults enter and get round since then.

Early nineties, wasn't the trial short of entries, I remember reading the * m * news at that time, it stated

Eee tha's an hard old bag at times, I'll be there providing I get through the ballot and have a good try at every section, wouldn't go if I didn't think I could. PS I don't think Dabster thought it was a good idea, either he doesn't like Chewy, or he's tekin ****.

To tell the truth, if 100 or so riders are not getting in each year due to the ballot, it would take a fair drop off in entries before the numbers were low enough. Chewy, I don't see it would change the status of the 6 day event, those riding the SSDT going for a special first class award or better are at the sharp end, many are just up for the enjoyment of the weeks holiday in the highlands. If they had three days for the twin shock crew, do you think it would get an entry large enough to justify doing it ?. I think in the future an alternative to run along side the main SSDT could be needed to keep the event alive, only time will tell.

After reading HL's above post got me thinking how could you boost the entry in years when economy and such may have an effect on the entry numbers. What if Thur, Fri, Sat, were open for a three day event to fill the ranks of those riders who had gone out of the event in the first three days, even allow them to re enter if they have gone out due to bike failure if they can get their machine sorted. Some first timers may not want to take on the full trial to start with but may take on three days to see what it's like, and the older riders who think six days would just be too much, may jump at the chance to ride the last three days. By mid week spectators for the pre 65 have gone home, some other spectators watch the first few days and head off home, it could be a way to get more folk around for the end of the event. When entries are being balloted out due to over subscription there isn

Hi John, if you look at the new users on the SSDT site you will see they are signed up with no proper names just random letters, automated computers serch for sites they can sign up for and then post spam to that site. We changed our site so that you had to be verified before you could post, and there were hundreds of the random letter names without proper email addresses, it was a right pain to try and sort them all out each day, I give up in the end.

I see the SSDT web site forums are offline, looks like the are under attack from spam bots. Our club site was hit by the spam bots, made it very hard to allow members to post without all the posts for Russian porn etc. We don

Going on the info announced with the launch of the bike it states conventional forks as an option, if that option is taken by most when the bike hit's the market then I would think they will go with the forks that are most popular with the punter. It also states parts will be completed and test riding of the machine to start in January, with a projected production time in July, if all goes well and the design is perfect, the test period to production is way too short. The Mont 4RT was pretty close when released to the market, with a couple of minor issues, I think I read they had three years of testing before release, can Ossa produce a machine has reliable in a fraction of the time it took Mont ? Looking at the launch pictures, it's missing a few parts, and the front wheel would lock up solid as soon as it saw any mud with the fender so close, the bike does look magic, it would be a shame to rush and spoil what could be a potential top seller.
