Add the inline filter between tank and pump if it does not have it!

Cody is just HOT ****E right now! Good job! Yet, a good high pressure enema when cleaning the bike usually gets Pat cleaned out and ready for day two! The real thing i seen in the posted scores was a Clean Day on 45 Class by Scott Head! Old stick can still ride, apparently! Awesome! This makes me proud!
  3. I think there is a lot of misconseption on used bikes. Firstly, one can only inspect and do Soo Much! If things check out, then so be it, and is blessed as a good runner. If one expects a like new bike, then one should be prepared to pay the "like new" price! Otherwize, do not quibble about whot you got "as is"! Many dealers sell on an "as is" basis purely, with no liability of fault of their own if unknown problems exhist. Others may well assist if unplanned failures occur. In the old days, race bikes came with NO warranty from new! None,Nada, forget about it! It now belongs to YOU! At some point , you gotta man-up! You got what you got!
  4. I cannot fathom exactly why a fellow with experience should have such a difficult time getting one of these on the rim. As Zipper stated, you can usually get the first side on by hand, then just flip on the other. Getting them onto the beads is another thing, and honestly I think there may well be as much varience built into the rims(on trials bikes) as anything related to the tire, but one thing I can tell you from experience prevails, and that is, if you are having difficulty, you probably do not have enough lube, or need to change to the proper stuff and plenty of it! I use both the paste and the liquid at work. The liquid is better, as is called upon at times. Nothing else will touch it! Cheap insurance against ruining a 3-400 dollar tire at times. You may well screw yourself otherwise! If you think trials tires are difficult, I beg to differ. Isee that stuff at NAPA costs $8 per gallon, suppose it is pre-mixed, the stuff I use(worlds finest) costs about 4 times that as a concentrate. You probably would not really want to know what is in it, as the MSDS does not report. I just call it gorilla snot! It is obsene, but I actually have a couple highly polished and chromed tire irons that cost more than a Mich! They have little plastic protectors that slide on as well, just sick! Add to all this, as I have learned to judge the prick by the wheels, some I will just send on!

Varying the revs and putting a load on the motor seems to help break in a new one. A WOT run in gear s 4 and 5 puts load on the motor, not to over rev it neccessarily, just the full working load through the range. This develops maximum pressures and gets some heat in the motor. Then let it cool and do it again. After an hour or two of play, you should be able to fully rev it out to clean things. I often do this with a bit of a drag race(not on cold motor) and let it rev out fully to see if it will clean out on top. You probably do not want to do anymore big hill WOT events untill you are fairly sure about the fact that it will clean out and rev out fully with some heat in it, or make a decision to change the jetting on the main because it will not clean out properly. Look at th PROS, the NEVER make a big attempt without clearing the motor! Basci thoughts are that 28mm carb should probably require someware near a 125 main jet, similar to the Kiehin, and word to the wize is to do your own little strip and clean on a new bike anyway, just to be sure there is no mfng trash in it! Plus as least know where you are at on the jets.
  6. No, it is a bit far, do they cheat, a lot? To be honest, I try to not even look at the punchcard, nor total it untill after. Yet on the same token, I have had instances where there was a 5 punched rather than a 0. This usually stands out as 005 or the likes on the card, so I will question it, knowing it incorrect. Observers do recall. On distracted observers, usually they just ask, and I never lie! Trials is Trials, just a game, and fact is there have been times to where an observer cannot see a dab, thus cannot score it and did not ask. Well, all I can say is that I must give the same grace while observing others, so benifit goes to the rider, sorry, but that is the game. And the less I count, the better I feel about it all as I find no moral obligation upon myself as it is lost in the day. So be it. Not a perfect game. In a no stop event, this can be tricky! Just ask for consistant observers! Don my best, let it be what it is.
  7. OMG! And notice, no front brakes! Nuts!
  8. I may have one or two around, let me check and see. Yup, you should see an e-mail soon on a couple of sweet ones!
  9. Well, I have not seen anything posted upon here, but seems there was an annoucement on the AMA site if I read it correctly. Figured I would have seen something put out by Clive by now, and I do not want to steal his glory, yet time runs short! Long story made short, I feel a bit inclined to make my annual donation, and will, yet would indeed feel a bit more satisfied by actually getting something(like Clive) off his butt and maybe getting a new sticker or something in response! Maybe I am missing something, or maybe just need to shut up and forget it? But from what I seen, I do indeed think we could have a winning team going on!
  10. This is why I like OLD people! You see, they have a much better understang of just how things work, and a lot more time to explain it than I do! Dan and Jon are full of it! Knowledge, that is, and to be honest it would take me quite a while to type all that out whilst accmulating my random thoughts amongst other tasks at hand during the day. One must have due respect for their elders! Although I do kinda think most the good ones are already dead, however most of the modern world was built with nothing but sliderules! And I am talking Aircraft, Spacecraft, Ships and Subs! One should take a good look into the history of engineering to gain a real appreation of just what all these old F--ksticks really did! All credit given, now I must think deep about just what this self admitting fellow has indeed done to himself? And being much a fundamentalist, I shall start off with a short question. Buchanon, did you grab the correct tin out of the shed? You know, the one that is not marked for the mower? The real one that ahs a proper amoun of 2T oil in it?
  11. One for Addict! A frustrated wife buys a pair of crotchless panties in an attempt to spice up her sex-life. She puts them on, together with a short skirt and sits on the sofa opposite her husband. At strategic moments she uncrosses her legs .... enough times till her husband says... "Are you wearing crotch less panties?" "Y-e-s," she answers with a seductive smile. "Thank God for that... I thought you were sitting on the cat." He never heard the gunshot.
  12. Everything in trials is a tradeoff, in a way. Some Gassers are light in the rear, but that in itself does not buy you traction! If you desire, you may keep your rear spring preload wound a bit tighter, to where there is little to no static sag(weight of bike) as compared to 20mm or so, and drop the forks to the second groove in the shafts. Back off any front fork preload on the left tube. Backing off the damper screw on the shocker as well can make a quick nose hopper. Adjust one thing at a time till you find your balance, as any may sacrifice traction under certain conditions.
  13. I have a couple different types of braces, and CAN get them to squeeze in under the trials pants, but I do not have fat legs so this may vary. Even at that, many times I just ride regular club events in jeans with full cut legs as compared to a slim cut. Seems many just wear an enduro type pant with room to move, not a problem that I have seen. I think Mike at Tryals Shop sells some fairly inexpensively from FLY Racing. I should add that my braces do not use an integrated patella cup. I use some(external) youth knee/shinguards that work well. Saved me a few odd kneecaps!
  14. Is your backside a bit droopy?
  15. It will be of interist to see just how well these things (along with their test pilots) get along!
  16. Well, these things are difficult at times, specially by long distance! Th last thing that comes to mind reguarding potential leakage of the crank seals would be to test the left side one by removing the mag side cover and spraying in a bit if carby cleaner behind the flywheel with the bike running and looking for a noniceable change in idle or low speed running. WE HAVE NOT TOUTCHED UPON ELECTRICAL YET! But ignition units, and even stators can do some really odd stuff at times! Disconnect you kill switch! Clean and ck your earthpoint on the CDI(coil). Any other points you find! Do you have a local mate you cpuld swap cdi units with? Carbs?

    Carb Setup

GJ is such a party pooper! Well, I guess really that the worst thing that could happen with that carb vent setup is that after a few offs, the gearbox would get all the fuel wiping out the clutch and bearings! After all that, while you are standing over it in pieces on the shed floor, the water heater ignites the vapors lying about and it takes out the shed! No big deal! Elf and safety will blame it all on the last machanic and your family will be rich! All you got was a scorched scrotum, loss of hearing and no eyebrows!

    Xispa Rebranded?

No wires, all bluetooth! Stupid question!

    What A Nerve

Pity, you and Noel are not riding! Just keep that AARP card out in front in the wallett! First thing they see!
  20. Use a Dremel tool with the little sanding drum attachment to carefully take out the ends so that your Ali bar ends like them!
  21. The older I get, Cycling seems more about cycling ME than a bike! I get out for a hot ride, need a cold beer, hot food, more cold beer, then the hot tub, then cold A/C, and a warm bed. The next morning it's cold shower to wake up, then a hot breakfast! All is in the balance!
  22. The Access is a bit different bike, and on a quick search I could not find the piccie I wanted to tell me (at a glance). Basically, if it has the pre-06 forks with a spring in each leg and an air vent plastic cap on each, they take 330 per leg. The later style, with spring in only one leg and damper in other, take the other quantities. And yes, 5W Maxima works fine!
  23. I don't know where this place is! I need to know if there is a Hotel with a hot tub, a honky-tonk bar and a taco stand within walking distance, like Augusta!

    Carb Setup

This is a Taliban trick! When your bike falls over it will fill up your gearbox with fuel and you and your bike will explode while sitting in a que, as everyone will be killed, there will be no witnesses! Wait till Jon sees this!
