You do not need a spacer. If it is in good shape just tighten the ouside nut lightly and it will seal against the band. If not, I would order up one of them new integrated stem/ bands and chunk the lot!.

Section 8 must have been the mudhole! Did Smage punch out to save the bike?
-
Agreed, by removing the clutch side cover you eliminate the water pump. If there is still a rough spot, then you can (mark) and remove the nut on the clutch hub and inspect again to isolate the problem.
A small piece of metal that has lodged into the primary gears could cause it. May appear as only a small spot on one gear tooth. Just thoughts?

Wonder if Neo found any more odd stuff in his carby?

A slow running fan can be caused by a faulty regulator or rectifier. The motor itself should be tested by putting 12V to it .
If lights change non when revving, my intuition suggests a regulator which is limiting the voltage too much, yes this happens.

Well, once again, these things are difficult to quantify without hearing, but there should be almost no percievable up/ down slack in the top and bottom rod bearings. A bit of rotational is ok as long as #1 is met.
I believe you stated the mains had been replaced, ald as long as there is little to no percievable movement in the flywheel in an up/down or in/out I would not be inclined to bust the cases. The new clearance on the main bearings is .003-.004 inch. and that would be excceded for normal wear.
Your description sounds like piston or ring noise. Depending upon the general condition of the bore, this could go three ways.
A standard piston ring replacement, up to and including a quick hone job and next size piston done yourself. Iffy, with no experience. Sometimes with!
A professional hone job with matching piston.
A replate with fitted piston. Available in "ABCD' sizes, what are they, about .01 mm difference? or was it .05mm? Yours should be marked with the letter.
Whots in your wallett?

I seem to recall someone experiencing this condition a long time back. I cannot recall if is was the coil/box or the stator that caused it.
Obviously the coil/ box is the easiest to try first. Depending upon your location, a call to MRS may help firm up this info.

Onl one wheel can float overthe line, both is out of bounds.

It is there! Click "results"

Sounds like you have the right idea! Dump the shield unless you are planning on the Scottish, rest should go on fairly easily with just a bit! May have to finger the carb slightly!
-
Top job Matt! Now you have more experience and a good idea whoot dad was referring to when travelling! Happens to the best!
-
Uhmmm, built to handle an adult rider is it? Be careful Glenn, that thing can get away from you!!!!!!!

That's OK Ronnie, I'm sure you are still recovering from the wedding!

You see, this lad is surely getting into his regular maintenance regime in an effort to keep things going well!
I am not totally sure of his (group) process, but I will shed you another light on the subject.
Group one: Fix what's broke! Pre and post ride and cleaning! All controls working perfect! Bolts tight, Runs properly!
Group two: Do your maintenance on Power components! Filters, carb , oil, chain, motor! No water in airbox after a wash!
Group three: Maintain front and rear suspension components, tires, wheels, brakes etc.
When in doubt, refer to Group One!
-
Well I suppose that answers all the water questions!. Hopefully it has not been hydrolocked and bent a con rod!
All these things do rattle a bit and have signifigant vibration when revving. A clean carby and some adjustment on the mix screw can make a world of difference, jetting is important too.

So if you have good lever pressure now, just poor stopping ability, take your liter bottle of water with you, go run down the street and back making a couple of good hard stops with the front from 5th gear to warm up the rotor and pads, then quickly douse the disk with the water to shock cool it. Do this a couple times, then resume normal operation or let set a bit. Try it again later and re- douce it if needed.
New pads need to thermo cycle a bit to firm up, and disk need a good steam clean.

1-800-CALL-RYAN, dummy!
Na, it's a 520 by about 103 as I recall, maybe 105 and god help you if you have a half link!
i think Mike at the Tryals Shop had some good prices, can't vouch for the quality? Lots on here running the Renthal chain it seems.
Have you trashed the stock shock on your yet?

Seems there is a Trojan virus being automatically spread through the friends lists on the Facebook, unfortunate!
It referrs to viewing an embarrassing clip of ? If you open it , it will tell you that you need to update your player! DO NOT ! As all hell breaks loose after that!
Fortunately the freeware "Malwarebytes" seems to fix it, but you may well need to download it to thumbdrive from another computer as yours may be foyked.
Fyi, the AVG did not catch it in time, and could not seem to remove it! Oh well! Even after all that you will probably need to go into your internet connection properties and perform a reset. What a pain!

I kinda like this one, has the stuff WRF-250
I must admit my Serow is a bit heavy and lacking off the road, but it will commute and is simple and reliable, not what I would want to race, though. It was inexpensive.
-
Sounds to me that a 10 on the front will help slow the bike a bit, makes a difference!
-
Na, they ain't saying! Go ahead and tell us, it's no real shame you know! Anyone could suffer a mechanical breakdown, many have, and many will! Nature of the game it seems. And not that I could do better. Seems some have been known to cheat more than others over time though, not the case here it seems! Good showing, now fess up or ?
