    Dakar

Amazing shots. Never really paid much attention to the Dakar, seems like I should. Ta
  2. I got a quick preview of it when I checked via my phone the other night. Someone must of been testing something, looked good.
  3. Probably got a headache as well after the bike landed on his head on the PJ1 section.
  4. Anyone know of any shops in the UK that stock it? Pretty pricey for a DVD + postage when you buy it direct from his site so I wondered if theirs any about.
  5. 2 of my mates have them and like them. Think they had it fitted from new so they can't really comment on how its improved them but it def sounds nice.
  6. I've always taken it that if it needs putting back in or correcting by the observer then its a five. I got a five once when someone walking the section stood on one and knocked it over while I was riding. Observer said I was riding and she had to put it back in so someone had to have the five. Had another last year in which I got given a five for another rider bending a marker while I rode a section. Would be a good way to win a trial, follow your rivals around kicking markers over while they ride.
  7. Hugely important in any sport in my opinion for various reasons. The helmet adds to the weight of your head and if your head moves away from its ideal position (fatigue) this translates through the body and you end up compensating. From another point of view doing long road trials with the wind hitting your face and constantly jumping ditches etc such as in the ssdt puts a huge strain on various muscles such as the scalenes. If these (and many others) tighten excessively it can result in a forward head posture. I see a lot of people with this sort of posture resulting in an altered angle of their 1st rib and clavicle This can close the thoracic outlet in which various nerves run through, its quite a common question on here relating to 'tennis elbow' or carpal tunnel issues' and is one of the reasons I've always recommended proper postural alignment no matter what level we ride at. Tried to make that as simple as possible but its a complicated area/topic.
  8. I tend to use 2 exercises to strengthen the neck. One in which you place a Stabilizer biofeedback (looks like a BP cuff) device under the neck, increase the pressure to a set mmHg and then attempt various exercises while either maintaining the pressure or slightly increasing it. The second is similar to an abdominal crunch on a swiss/exercise ball. Relax back full over the ball and then perform the crunch but only bringing your head as far as its ideal anatomical position. The challenge is that your having to maintain your head position despite gravity. In a gym this one is always particularly challenging as abdominal cradles (in which you lie back and perform ab exercises with a fully supported neck) have led to a massive imbalance in some individuals ratio of strength between abdominal and cervical spine. Obviously these often need GP clearance particularly in those suffering any balance issues but when used as part of a program they make a huge difference. Hope that helps
  9. Managed to get a go on one today after the trial. Rode it with an open mind and tried to forget all the grief they've got from people. Was quite excited to get a go on one seeing as their aren't too many about yet. Can honestly say that it rode well, few things I'd change but thats the same with any bike as it just needed setting up to suit me. Did a full lap of the trial on, made a few mistakes which were down to unfamiliarity and not being set how I like it. Had bags of power and sailed up some pretty big climbs, steps etc and handled the mud very well. All in all it seemed really good and I'd be quite happy that at my standard of riding it wouldn't be struggling.
  10. Sounds very nasty, hope it all goes well and he's back to his best asap.
  11. My dad picked one up a few weeks ago, really happy with it so I'm sure you'll love it.

  15. Wow, thanks for the tip I'll add it to my list of big words that I need to try better at. Think I'll stick with my learning disability rather than swop it for your manners, I'll never be intelligent so fingers crossed your not the one marking my dissertation as well.
  16. I use a lot of pro-preception and reaction training while holding a set of mtb bars which helps plus I use biketrials to make a trials move easier first. The greater the neuro-muscular system is trained the quicker your brain will compute which allows you to perform movements without thinking. Comes down to following a model in which you have unconscious incompetence, and ends with you having unconscious competence, having passed through conscious incompetence and conscious competence. Its amazing to take a client who doesn't even know they can't perform a function and turn it round to a point were they no longer even have to think about it. A bit like when Bou and Raga ride and you can tell it just happens naturally.
  17. I should be but its too boring and ridings too tempting..
  18. Urban Dictionary Definition I think it means number 6. George Foreman or maybe number 10. Gender Fluid?? According to number 13 Urban Dictionary PS3 PS3 also seems to be George Forman related...
  19. TTC Practice it on a bike and then when you've mastered transferring your weight it should be easy to move on to moto.
