  1. AHRMA won't have the results posted on their site for a while. I don't know how fast twinshocks is.
  2. You can see my consternation.
  3. Would that explain the tubes on my M92? See arrow where the knurling is.
  4. So this wasn't a modification by one of the trials tuners of the time? The bash plate has so much fabrication I can't imagine this being a one off. I also can't tell if the engine has been raised in the frame. Are these similar to the changes in the Majesty bikes?
  5. Seriously? No one knows anything about this bike?
  6. Yes, we know it's only about 400 Euro. But what is it? A home-made special or something else? That skid plate is pretty unusual, no? ebay link And yes, if I had more room in my garage I'd go get it...
  7. I didn't know Michelins and cheap could be used in the same sentence.
  8. Of course. Tons of them. Might help if you post where you are located.
  9. CATRA is apparently in New York. So somewhere in the NE USA would be my guess.
  10. Yes. With an honourable mention to the TY80 Why the TY 80?
  11. The Spanish lads fit Frontera footrests which are slightly wider than Sherpa rests, I like them and you don't have to start all over again! Big John Some of the Montesa guys fitted some Kawasaki footpegs from a slightly newer bike. Montesa post I'm going to try this route and see if I can find something that might fit the Sherpa Ts.
  12. He does both, I think. On vintage bike no less.
  13. I don't know what kind of shoes are in my bike now but they seem to stop plenty good. Not sure if I want any more stopping power. I'm pretty much two-finger braking through the traps, if I'm not perched on the rear brake pedal.
  14. Is there a manufacturer or part number on it?
  15. I'm not sure on if the M199 is a different size than my M49, but for mine I bought a bearing set from Speed & Sport. The OD had been ground down and I had the top cap thing machined down. Much better than the crap that was in there before.
  16. Here's my calendar. Click on an event and it should give you a web link. Wednesday is Ishy's, but that might be hard for you to make. They let us bring vintage bikes out last year and even let us ride them. Sept. 15th: Goldendale for Hammer & Tongs. I think Jay is still putting this one on. Jay, is this still a go? The next weekend is the Premier and Classic back at the Farm. It'll be smaller than the National so you can take your time and no waiting. But same course, usually reversed. Derek is holding a trials school on Friday at 1pm. My cousin went to the one prior to the National and said it was well worth it. It's only $25 and for most riders it will be educational. We talked Derek into holding another class so the more that show up the better. Then the FOLLOWING weekend it Klamath Falls. If you're coming down from Canada you might as well just take three weeks off and ride your heart out... Is that enough trials? I just hope that the bike and I hold up that long.
  17. Picture Gallery here Another great turn out in the Pacific Northwest. Over 80 riders on all sorts of bikes. Again the Modern Classic (roughly 1970-1980 twinshock) class was the most populated. There were some vicious sections. We sat and watched one trap take out rider after rider. Between the mud and a precariously placed tree root on an uphill turn, it managed to cause more 5's than I'd seen in a while. I took at crack at it and dog paddled my way through all three rounds, more than happy to take my 3's and move on. My first round was dismal, but I think the last two approached reasonable (at least for me). We'll be back at the same location in month and give it another go.
  18. Depends on who re-chromes them or who you can buy them from.
  19. I also recommend moving the condenser. I actually use a NAPA condenser which is probably a wee bit cheaper that a Bultaco one.
  20. Might need to cut back on the caffeinated beverages...
  21. 02 is an "old bike"? <goes out to console the bikes in the garage who must now think they are mummies...>
