  1. I have the latest version of Photoshop... and have been known to use it. Just as long as I don't have to work with removing backgrounds from behind spoked wheels I don't mind.
  2. Is there a list of verboten company names somewhere? I assume these are non-sponsors of the site, or just people who have p****d off Andy?
  3. Send the picture to me. You should be able to email me via the link in my profile. Send the biggest picture that you have.
  4. Dealer will typically stock the most popular plugs, and with ten billion to chose from, who can blame them? Once you know the exact plug you want you should order (either special order or internet/mail order) the one you need. Get several, although you shouldn't need too many once it's running correctly.

    Wheels

Even with the correct spokes you need the offset measurement.
  6. Funny you should ask. Someone else wanted to know too. Don't feel too bad. Some guy over on the BOF just completed a beautiful restoration on a M26 Matador and now his wife is making him sell it. He hasn't even gotten a chance to ride it!
  7. I have seen some errors on that site so it doesn't surprise me that it wrong. The blue bike is listed as a 199 on the Bultacosc.com site. I don't think the picture for the Model 92 is correct either. Is this a better picture? Stripes on tank are different.
  8. This might be the correct picture of your bike. 198 By "electronic user manual" do you mean a manual for the electrics/electronics on the bike or a digital (PDF or the like) manual?
  9. Or to put it another way, if those renegades hadn't been to traitorous back then, the national pastime in North America would be observed trials instead of baseball.
  10. There are about 4 billion websites that will tell you how to transfer the music. Here's one.
  11. Did you try just plugging it into the new computer?
  12. Can I assume that the laptop wasn't the original computer that was synced with the iPod? Is the laptop Mac or PC?
  13. If it's not already you can relocate the condenser to under the tank. Keeps it cooler. Don't forget about the Bultaco Owners Forum for all kinds of delicious information.
  14. One of the guys I ride with has the same bike and recently put the heat shield on. Apparently (please correct me) the original heat shield was plastic, and of course broke, making them difficult to find. He just took some sheet aluminum (or steel) and fabricated a shield. Seems to have made a huge difference. The shield is just sandwiched between the carb and manifold. He also wrapped the exhaust pipe in header tape, which also seems to have helped. I'm not sure where "Ross-shire" is but I'm guessing that it may not be one of the warmer trials environments so some of these measures may be unnecessary. This particular bike also has a Powrall 150 kit (whatever that is) which may also run warmer. We have suggested instead of the header tape, which is a wee bit unsightly, to have the exhaust pipe ceramic coated. This will have the same impact, although will look better. We are riding this evening and I'll try to get more pictures to post by tomorrow. Edit: Hope this helps. This is a very common problem on the TL125.
  15. Now you have to worry about rust AND termites. Here's the rest of the story...
  16. Good find on the numbers. Now to bring it back to the original issue, are there enough Bultacos left, that take the "boomerang" muffler to make it feasible to produce an aftermarket exhaust? Yamaha made more TYs (a single model) in a few years than Bultaco made in 15 years or so (all models). Do we know exactly how many 151 and later models were produced? Based on the numbers I'll take a wild guess of 5-10,000, which is just a fraction of the TY production. Calculate out surviving bikes and the current market is "modest" for a model-specific part. Which goes back to the mufflers. To create a die for a stamped muffler is expensive, hence the need for 20+ orders. A metalsmith could replicate something close without a die but it would be expensive-ish. But then again, we are farting around with old bikes so money sometimes goes out the window along with logic.
  17. Of course, even that analysis is up for debate. Which may be due to current vintage classes and other factors. But I wouldn't dare try to speak for the rest of the world but in my little corner of the universe (Pacific Northwest) the vintage trials are dominated by the TY175 (even though bikes up until 1979 are eligible). But after that it's a smattering of various brands. Keep in mind that a "huge" event is maybe 50 riders for all classes, so the sample size may differ greatly from your events. A TY250 is a less popular model, so consider it overweight and less nimble than the TY175. This could be due to the style of the trials, perhaps they are tighter here? The oldest Sherpa T I've seen in competition is a M49, but it seems like the later Sherpas are actually more prevalent. Again, we are not talking about large numbers. If there are a handful of Bultacos at an event I'm shocked. So, if I were to take up manufacturing parts, I might lean toward TY175 parts.
  18. Another choice is to find someone who specializes in aluminum metalwork and have them fabricate a muffler for you. If you have an original muffler for a pattern it will make it easier for them.
  19. You don't need to be a site supporter to post a picture, but perhaps site supporters are allowed to upload images to a TC server?
  20. I'm going to get fancy on you: If you go to the photo page and click on "show links" then click on Img, then copy and and paste that URL directly into your post you will get something that looks like this. and this:
  21. I'll give you the overview, someone else will hopefully chime in with the specifics. You need to find a service that can host your pictures. You then upload your pictures to this service. Once you have located your photo, you copy the address (URL) of the photo and add that to your post here. (Click the button that when you hover over it, says "Insert Image"). I happen to use the Apple .Mac service for web stuff, but there are free services that can host your pictures. I'm sorry I can't suggest any.
  22. DabDab I agree that it would be great to be able to buy lightweight WES exhausts for our Sherpa Ts but WES already do make exhausts for the world's most popular vintage trials bike. It's just that the Sherpa T isn't that bike. Oh, ouch. Did B&J say if they could get WES to quote a custom price for an exhaust? Or even better, why not email WES directly? I found this email addy from another post here... Dick Walker <steam@onetel.com>

    Tl 125

Wikipedia for the CT Gearing might be similar to the TL.
  24. Let me rephrase: I only have room for one trials bike. Well, I would have more room 'cept someone gave me a M26 roller for free. And I was stupid enough to take it. I actually read the article and I think the barrel is correct, it should just be painted black. The new fin pattern was on the 350s, it's just hard to see in the old photos.
