  1. How to: I posted this a little while ago, you just needed to look a little harder...
  2. Close. I found a Spanish trials forum that mentioned (in translated English) a toothed belt and showed the same picture as above. No picture of the right side. I assume that it was driven from the crank end. I believe the Montesas were gear driven primaries so no chain (like a Bultaco) to get in the way. The bike is now apparently in a Spanish museum. The Bassella Motorcycle Museum
  3. How to they drive the valves on a two-stroke lower end?
  4. I can't keep up with the slang on one continent. I'm curious (and will probably regrets asking) what this phrase means. Oh, and lightweight (not heavily armored) MX pants work fine. I've been using ATV boots (with a treaded sole and heel) for now, and they work ok. Need to save up for some Gaernes.
  5. I gentleman over on TeamBultaco (Yahoo Group) posted these pictures. With his permission I'm reposting them here. Does anyone know the history behind this bike? Were they ever produced?
  6. There were some lads south of you playing football last weekend. They didn't seem all that cold..
  7. I might use WD-40 to clean the chain but I wouldn't rely on it for the lube. Some (like me) use a chain wax and then maybe clean the chain thoroughly once in a while. I've heard of others that clean the chain (remove and boil in oil) after each ride. It all depends...
  8. This page mentions a 200cc kit. Their website is a little sparse and I didn't see anything else about the 200cc kit, although a call or email would sort that out pretty quickly.
  9. Less talk about the French and sauces and more pictures of Bultacos!!!!
  10. Here's an interesting solution on a 250. I think something similar could be done to the 175. I'm not sure if this was all homemade or where it came from. This picture was taken at Donner last year. I think it was parked close to Tony's "rig".
  11. I'm looking at the same problem. Here's a link to how I think I'll tackle it: Blog Entry (just have it stuck at the back for fun, will be mount in the center when I'm done (hopefully). Basically taking a modern rear silerncer (easily re-packable) that's approximately the correct size and getting it to work. Probably will end up spending way more for the used muffler and modifications than to just to buy the Miller part. But that wouldn't be the first time I've made that mistake.
  12. Isn't Sherco the closest it's going to get?
  13. Any chance you would scan and post pictures of the brochure?
  14. With those handlebars it must be a handful in the sections...
  15. Did the Suzukis also have a dished sprocket?
  16. The only Sunbeams I've ever seen were the inline twins. Which motor is that?
  17. All of them, even the bikes in your possession... he owns those too, you just don't know it.
  18. I know you said "others" but did you try Matt at Speed and Sport in California? Lynn at Mobley's?
  19. I also use Photobucket to post pictures. 1. Create Photobucket account. It's FREE. 2. Upload a picture from your computer to Photobucket. Click on the Choose File button and search on your computer for the file you want to upload. Then click Upload. 3. Then you should see the picture you uploaded in your Photobucket library. Click on the IMG Code below the picture you want to post to Trials Central. This will automatically copy the correct code! 4. Come back to Trials Central to where you post a message. Simply Paste the IMG Code from Photobucket into your post. 5. Click Preview Post to make sure the picture is correct. There are other serviced that will host images for you. Some of them are free. Some may be better than Photobucket. Some may not be. As mentioned I believe that a Trials Central site supporter is allowed to post pictures directly to the forum. One of these days I'll get around to joining and find out.
  20. Email me the pcitures and I'll post them. Then when I get time I'll find the how-to-post-pictures and put that up. swooshdave@gmail.com Ah, yes, here is the discussion on how to post a picture: How to Post a Picture I've updated it with instructions on how to use Photobucket. Hopefully that will help.
  21. Being factory bikes the parts only had to last one event.
