Thanks, outside half seems to have no connection to the inner baffled part from memory, maybe the perforations were completely full of carbon !

Thanks woody & zisko62, I have a spare box and was toying with the idea as I have to open it anyway to fix loose baffles.
zisko62, any idea of other modifications to the bike ?
Think its a late frame judging by the footrest position ?
(Are those Gas Girlings, I never particularly liked them.)
Cheers
Ross
Woody, I repack the front box fairly regularly, anything to be done to the back one ?

			(No, not that sort)
Any information on the modifications that quite a few SWM's seem to sport ?
Are they all home grown, or is someone making them.
What are the advantages ?
The following picture is from the "CampoCanavese2012" (thanks Mike)

I had an ignition cover welded successfully many years ago, unfortunately the company no longer trades, but it is possible.

If you have checked points and condensor, swap coil, then stator. Some ignition problems sound/feel like carb/fuel.

"For auction - 1 pair of Rock Shock trials shocks.
Used only a couple of times.
These are 360mm long and have heavy weight springs (poss 70-80lb) however the cost of replacement springs from John Bull at Rock Shocks will be much cheaper than buying complete shocks.
I have no reserve so grab a bargain "
70-80lb springs !! I'm 13 stone and use 50lbs springs on Rockshocks.

True, but for them to work at their best they really would have to go a bike with similar geometry and have a rider of the same weight etc

To much oil will also cause the forks to lose movement, personally I would take out the drain screws and pump them to see what, if anything, comes out.

Take it to a good engineer and let them see it, there's usually a fix.
If the holes are enlarged and tapped they have to retain the same/original centre, and you would have to also drill the sprocket. An engineer might be able to put inserts in, depending on how much "meat" there is.
