buy it it will be always worth 900 if you look after it. normally you would expect to buy pads and sprockets for that money. check air filter btw. they are simple and straight forward to work on easy maintenance, check mains before you buy.

It is a friendly forum not a place to bang on and on and on about what you think is right when there is clearly plenty of evidence to suggest otherwise, and anecdotal evidence against what is clearly happening out there is making you look daft. Your trials riders may well say they want this and they want that but if you were so right with this weight and reliability thing why are montesas not selling the most? Again you have commented about extra weight being a "big improvement to the sport", what about heavy bikes could possible make our sport better, I cant see it? Bikes more reliable, unlikely but faintly possible, but that wont improve our sport. I really don't care either way but when you clearly ignore any reasonable argument against what appears to be your "blinkered" view I kinda think I'm tired of the effort to even convince you that weight isn't going to be added in any desirable way in the wtc, which is what this thread is all about.

Fed up with this blatant abuse, we all know a certain well placed SWM last year from the Westmorland round on in the Normandale was basically similar to the above, the fact the rider would have won on a standard swm seems to have escaped reason. Anyway ive heard that the normandale twinshock class is to revert to the easier route which is great news as far as I can see, and should negate the use of these fiddle machines and at least give me a chance on my AG Italjet!

We are not talking about many motorsports we are Trials in the uk. One safety item like holes in sprockets (get changed anyway) is not the same as old bikes becoming obsolete, and you have to convince the manufacturers to follow wtc rules which might affect 50 sales a year? But YOU want the fim to dictate rules to the ACU which is our organisation run by our riders/organisations/clubs and you think they will just say yes? And you think peeps will actually add weight to bikes to compete in our club trials??????????????????????? Every club is going to buy scales and weigh bikes before events, and have an expert on hand who knows which year each manufacturers bike is made as to whether they are exempt or not? You really do live in la la land and just haven't thought this through have you?

Check the amount of fuel being delivered, ie turn on for 5secs andthen off, take out bowl should be 1/2 full? bango filter clear? set tickover a bit fast then adjust mixture screw. Must admit bings are pretty easy to adjust usually?

It might affect me as I was going to do an over 40 European round this year but cant as my bike will be underweight. Really tempted to do the water in tyres trick or lead in airbox just to prove a point. Any volunteers for minder?

Relating trials to moto gp isn't a good analogy for lots of reasons. If you are so sure heavier is better start up a business selling heavy/reliable/cheaper parts and see what happens? whats light and unreliable on a trials bike anyway? baldilockies said above hes got 5 years out of his raptors whats wrong with that? they certainly last better than standard heavy steel ones that's for sure.

Perhaps Martin Belair can explain the change in rules as far as minimum weight and how that can increase participation? Perhaps he can also explain how the fim are being "PRO ACTIVE" in "promoting trials"?
