dellorto? upside down 18.5mm I think
-
I actually conned a guard and rode round part of the track, mega, I guess F1 has put the bosh on riding there.
Alexz Wigg sealed his first world Championship on that day in 06, but more pertinent is the fact 6 brits finished in the top 14 in the championship http://www.trialonline.org/01%20TRIAL.FIM/03.YOUTH/309.YOUTH%20CHAMPIONNATS/03%20CHAMPIONNAT%202000/YOUTH%202006.htm

I think this is where others have gone wrong. What is wrong with failure of a prototype? there is no test which would find faults better than the SSDT surely? You see car manufacturers going to sweeden for long run tests why not the SSDT?(for any new bike)
-
new plug and carb clean, set up tickover and air screw spot on, clean air filter check float level and function, don't forget banjo filter if its a dellorto, my guess if its still the same its technique.
My 300 always preferred full throttle shut off as it fired up so as stated above some bikes have quirks
-
I think this is an American thing and may well be true there but I would discount it as the main reason with a uk bike.
-
Spa was great though wasn't it?
-
me too but don't tell the wife...........
there are some photos of the backer/owner on a bike in the ssdt and on a different make more recently, I wonder if they might use another make engine in their chassis?

Right this is the last time I try and get you to see sense!
The FIM have done f all.
FIM minimum weights will not make any difference to reliability if riders put blocks of lead on the bashplate, and in WTC competition if they don't weigh bikes AT RANDOM.
Unless all manufacturers agree to increase their weights simultaneously it would never work, and even then the reliability may not even improve if for example, they make steel bashplates.
At a stroke you would wish weighing scales at club trials and make thousands of bikes obsolete overnight, if and a really big IF the acu (our federation our rules) were to follow suit. It ant going to happen, never.
Anecdotal evidence of "your mates gasser" is not a generally accepted fact, ive had 5 gassers never had a gearbox problem my mate has had two and he wrecks bikes, no problems, and back in the day 06 (when problems were more common) I have witnessed close up a certain rider complete (and win) a 12 round world championship without any problems with the box at all.
John Shirt is pretty fair on warranties and if your mate has had 3 boxes go without reason I'm sure junior would have dealt with this.
In short, the majority don't want heavier bikes.
-
No mileage in that at all. Look at the sales of JTG Ossa scorpa, and particularily genuine Honda uk 4rt sales, if excellent bikes like these don't sell in economic numbers whats a virtual unknown merlin going to do in twinshock guise?
-
I think theres a 4rt in their too
-
-
..or more relevant here a minimum weight combining rider and bike, so bigger riders aren't at such a disadvantage?
-
ooooh so light! Now that I would like to see!
-
Same old song - but now the gas gas beta and sherco are too light but the 4rt too heavy?
-
Very true I think its since restoration began and also Americanism?
-
....and japan (note with a spare weekend between aus and jap?????!!!!!!!!!!!!)
in 2013 the fim did one thing changed to no-stop rules poorly enforced. (They promised more btw)
in 2014 they have increased weight minimums with no condition.
No one can believe that is the resuscitation we are talking about surely?
-
My guess is about 4100 for frame and non matching engine number around the same.
-
Just give us the last 4 numbers on the frame it may help.
If its late 3000 or even 4000 it may be one of the last and from your descriptions it is. It may have an alloy head steady, and the forks came like this on the subsequent italjets so its a kind of upgrade!
Only thing is the discrepancy between engine and frame numbers, it may well be genuine and that's my guess as the factory was using what it had.
Amal carb and 5 speeds confirm its a 250 at a glance.
-
-
who attempted to resuscitate it?
-
you will still need half those items after a year on a new bike, plus it will loose 1200
-
I doubt it has been paid, why do you not want to join a club?
-
Well you get a mono that looks like or is an update of a twinshock, fantics have a few options and aprillias as above can be made to look like twinshocks, modify frame get some really good suspension and hey presto its not much different in performance, and looks like the bike above
for added fiddle fit very late forks like beta rev 3 or similar
-
we have plenty of great trials here in Europe pretty much every week in an area smaller than the usa.
-
??????????????????????????
