  2. ben, how many scorpas either 2013 or 2014 are there in your trials?
  3. Ben more than gas gas? more than beta sherco and montesa?
  4. nigel dabster replied to george1892's topic in Montesa
A 4rt will seem a lot better than your techno because it is much more modern. But so will a gas gas beta or sherco at the same price.

Tony its just to prevent stuff/dirt going into carb which is BAD! mostly looking after bikes is straight forward and needs only a little thought but gives great rewards if everything works as it should do.
  6. nigel dabster replied to toetoe's topic in Sherco
the second thing is a thermostat and controls the fan coming on and off with temperature.

They are hose clips and most cases not needed if you hose is in good condition, but available from your sherco dealer I recommend AG BIkes. It is indeed your rear reservoir which isn't necessary really anyway. As an aside I would always put a clean rag in your intake you do not want bits of dirt getting in there, and wash your bike better!
  8. Ardeche isn't far and think chris Wrigley is down there somewhere............
  9. Do you ever read whats put in threads? My post above says ferrers bike already has lead in it why would weight limits make any difference?
  10. Charlie, take it a step at a time, what I did first was to find a square drop off which mimics your dismount, but with a flat approach. Once you have mastered the technique increase the size until you have the drop off equal to your obstacle. Then revert to the obstacle (smaller size) and holding pressure to push out the front wheel then build back to the obstacle the original size. Does that make sense? Bear in mind you don't have to get a perfect landing just a push out on the front.
  11. Heat them up by riding round with brakes on till they are really hot then quench with lots of water. My beta 290 had decent enough brakes so changing master cylinder wont cure your problems I'm guessing, as stated above.
  12. So retail at £70 ish? Whats the wear like on the leading edge?
  13. Note the magazine article describing Ferrers' bike has lead in the front spindle
  14. its a bloke with a boob job?
  15. nigel dabster replied to cabby's topic in Gas Gas
Scotland, Gas Gas 125 09 model.
  16. Think mine must be a halfway83/84 model because of differences.
  17. Mines. Got bettor forks black side panels but alloy spindles front and rear wheels. The flywheel isn't much and it revs a lot easier and quicker than a 340 built. Impressed with the build tbh.
  18. Ha Ha you're so funny! This is a thread about Weight, not an oppourtunity for welsh slapstick. (back on thread) When you look at all the makes they cant be that far different as they have so many similar/same parts.
  19. Do they all have ally spindles and a few nuts? Looking at my recent purchase it looks like they cured lot of the bultaco niggles. dsellorto is good brakes work better and it seems quite powerful.
  20. Reckon a gas gas is fractionally lighter not much in it, mines 67.5 full up but got a fair bit of Ti.
  21. ...and cheaper
  22. If you do it at the end of a trial its open to abuse, you need to do it at random.
  23. Its not directing it at bikes its enforcing it.
  24. lead in the bashplate, or under the engine will get around any minimum, but heavy materials or steel instead of ally, doubt it. If they are serious about this rule, and the enforcement of such, a random test would have been done this year, afaik its never been random. it is too easy to circumvent. At the first round in france in 2012 it was "broadcast" that the weighing would be done at scrutineering which it was, for all we know bous tyres were filled with water.
