  1. Bit harsh that gaz. I'll have you know that the gas gas was always good to me, and whilst others may have said it wasn't any good never ever did I, even when I was Sherco mounted five times. (seem to remember putting a Gas Gas 'stat on an 03?) Thats not really fair to say I transformed it, my dealer did that with the throttle body and programme to be honest. So much so Perceval and his mate are after the same map I think. As for the mont perce has been bleating (pun intended) on about it its plus points for so long it did coincide with me wanting to give it a try, and as I was discussing it today with a pal and stated above its got great potential. The only way to find out if its right for me, and more pertinentally the type of sections I ride, was to get one and try it for a few months. As for not riding sections I didn't do too bad on the first half of the colonial just two behind you james! Lets not mention the second half please........ but what I did feel was I wouldn't have done any better on my Gasser on these sections if at all. It is a known fact that the clutch and cam changes have made this montesa (08) a much better ride, but I never had much time on the 05/06 anyway, and when I did it was on mud in our centre. I wasn't sure about the Gasser till I owned it and rode it, then loved it. Hope the mont is the same, and its taking a while to get the hang of it, but if not at least I've given it a go with an open mind and with the chronic 08 shortage it shouldn't be difficult to off load.
  2. Now I could get upset but to be honest (and fair) its got as much modification as I want at the mo. I need more time on it but on last weeks effort its got potential. If it don't work out its back to the gasser (thats me by the way!) Munch, you can have first refusal if I decide its to go..........
  3. My only real gripe is the stickers are not compatable really. It doesnt match the 07's or the 08's either. Mechanically its as much as I need! Really should do a test for peeps on here as a reknowned montesa hater turned owner I guess I might be near the truth?
  4. My first trials bike was an ossa andit ran ok till the first time I hit the bashplate. Think mine was then routed out the top ? is this possible?
  5. Looking at the recent indoor pictures the (08 works bikes) repsol logos size shape etc, and of course wheel and tank colour don't match mine , so what have I got? A repsol replica of what?
  6. 08 is much better apparently clutchwise, I havn't touched mine apart from one oil change and everyone thats ridden it says the clutch is much better than previous years. Think trw and hrc use narrow hydraulic cable in theirs. Makes no difference whether stopped on button or stalled. Reset technique I use all the time if it doesn't start in two kicks, but havn't tried wiff of throttle, will do this.
  7. Why is a trials bike still better with enduro tyres though? was this a rule at the hells gate?
  8. The rules would need to be very very specific as seat height is too easy to change etc. They need to have tough and fast, a mx(enduro) bike is so much beter over proper whoops and flat out from corners they need to sort this out. The tough one has got so tough it may be that trials bikes are the weapon of choice next year. I spoke to a top ten rider last week and he said had he not been contracted a trials bike would be his choice. (get your spelling checker on vinnie!)
  9. Not had a problem really except when its moving its some times difficult to find, which is good I guess? Why do you want nuetral, for starting? Mine starts ok in gear.

    Reeds

    They do make a difference
  11. Think the 300cc upgrade needs crank casework which is why there are kits below this size(?)
  12. S3 definately make their own barrels. Maybe the piston is hrc?
  13. Youth wtc Champion 2007 and Andorian junior winner Alfredo Gomez is riding montesa in 2008, so I hear.
  14. You would be the only one not surprised then. You really think he can win a round in front of raga cabby bou and doug? Could be wrong but don't think hes finished in front of any of these for a couple of years, excluding the odd occasion and injury to doug. To suggest that this year he will beat all of them in one go is somewhat ambitious don't you think? He rode the scorpa well enough.
  15. Its a vw diesel 5 cylinder (think all the 5 cyl are vw motors?) the sprinter is the same as a vw crafter up to double the size of a vito. When I was last in the states there was a chevy van very similar in size. http://www.volkswagen-vans.co.uk/ pictures not to scale but gives an idea. Simlar to this(?) but not in prices

  17. Very helpful is Paul, Anglia vinyl Art is the company.
  18. Just a half of shandy? Spent to long in the south by the sound of it!
  19. For 50p I guess I get about 3 miles, something like your dollar, (it would be with more all the stops at house of pancakes, Taco bell and wendy's that would cost the money) so maybe halffor the same money.
  20. Trialsage is Mandy or Aidrian of lewisport I believe.
