Were you at Nantmawr? Punes effort was amazing but its not like for like, he was up against the best trialers in the country and trounced them. Then did the same with knighter. But it is not fair to compare when they were on completely different bikes and pune was tired from the previous race so its just not possible to say this one or that was better, or would do better than whoever in enduros. My opionion is Michael has alot more to give to trials first before he retires into Enduro! Taddy left trials cos he couldn't get decent funding to do the wtc I believe. I don't think he has had any great showing in ordinary enduros, he has excelled at these extreme events because the trials background is a big big advantage. Look at the vegas vids it shows really good trials technique when goin over rocks in a corner when others are struggling. Browny won twice and took home the $$$ nuff said.

Certainly on our section(yes perce our section) Knighter was like a bag of **** compared to the trials boys. I am convinced this is because on an enduro/mx the bike soaks up alot more with the longer travel and requires less imput from the rider, what you're used to rather than any reflection of what you can or can't do. Put browny on an enduro round nantmawr then we might see a different result!

As a generality here in the uk the need for jetting is very unusual, except with 125cc tuned bikes, the rest are usually near?

Kehin or dellorto? Rev 3 as profile or gas gas what cc? Boysen shouldn't change jet size much if at all, never did with mine.

Bultaco brakes like most ts drums are not that good but don't see how a differentmake will help. Road bikes of the same era had twin leading shoes that would be better. The thing that makes them work better is to make sure all the componantry is 100% and yours could be 50 % of the trouble. Rod back gives the best results, I have bushed the pivot points as well before now which helped. Long arm s on both as well.

Answer the following What is the off set of the wheel? How will you know the correct tension to tighten to? Can you memorise the pattern of the spokes? Are your bearings 100%? What tooling will you use for truing? What do you true first height or width? If you can clearly answer these then have a go but what about a bit of overtime and let an expert do it? All the people above let someone else do it for a very good reason, it is cheaper in the long run.
