    Ty175 Side Stand

Got a side stand off eBay that was billed as a 175 side stand. It looks like one but is far too short. So don't know if it's been cut down or is off a TY80 or something. Would one of you with an original side stand on their 175 be kind enough to measure it for me? I'm going to cut it and weld an extension in. Thanks Dave
  2. Mines an 01 and mudguards we're becoming scarce, so I bought 2 and that set me back nearly £300. The centre box on the exhaust has worn thin from boot rub over the years, and I've had to weld the silencer where it had rubbed on the rear wheel and I don't think you can get original ones of either of those. You can get a aftermarket silencer though. A few bits are shared with the 4rt so that's ok, but if parts are available for the 315 only they seem very expensive.
  3. Completely agree. At the time when I sold my last 315 in 2001 although I didn't think it at the time I was definitely swapping to worse new bikes over the next few years. Rode mine (got another one last year) last week and it's more than I'll ever need. I just wish some parts were more readily available. I don't like riding it too much as some parts are pretty hard to get hold of now. I used to love watching Jason Finn too.

    Ty 175 Footpegs

I have the TY Off Road ones on mine. They work well. You have to mod the frame to fit them but worth the effort.
  5. Hello Just got an Oset 20 for the kids. It has standard wheels and tyres. What pressures do you run at? Looks like no chance of running them at normal trials bike pressures. Thanks Dave
  6. Exactly the same thing happened to mine whilst riding the Manx once. Meant I had to retire. I could only change down but not back up. If I'd have known that at the time I would have left it in third and probably managed to complete it. My knock was pretty low impact. Apparently they are designed to break to prevent any more terminal damage. It doesn't help that the gear lever is so strong. I drilled mine gear lever after that to try and make it weaker, thinking that I would rather have a broken gear lever. Never happened after that though. Had another 4rt and never had any issues with that either.

    10Th Title

You wouldn't bet against him adding more to that tally either..

    10Th Title

Fantastic achievement for Doug. Brilliant result. Some great rides from others too. I'm particularly impressed with Amos Bilbao's on the 4ride!

    Pre 65 Times

Thanks for the info. So it sounds like there will still be plenty to see at midday on Saturday. I will head in and get a programme and have a watch.

    Pre 65 Times

Going to be arriving in the Kinlochleven area about midday on the Saturday. Will the trial still be going on then? If so where would be the best place to head? I have watched the 6 days many times but never managed to catch any of the pre65, so would like to see some if possible.
  11. I have an excel tubeless rim I wanted to use for my 175. It's the montesa type with the flange for the spokes to go in. I can't find anyone to build the wheel as no one can seem to source suitable spokes with the adjuster in the middle like a Mont. I am sure people have done this. Can anyone help? Cheers Dave
  12. It wasn't Dorset.. It was definitely on the continent. The 2nd one sounds like it could be. I will check it out. Thanks for the replies so far..
  13. Bit of a strange post this, but whilst riding the Terry's Cup Trial in December last year I got chatting to a chap that I have seen regularly at road trials around the country but never chatted to. We got chatting about a road bike trip I have planned this summer and he had done similar routes taking in Grossglockner, Stelivio, and rode similar routes every year from what I gather. He recommended a tank museum to me, that has one of only 2 surviving certain model WW2 tanks in it. I can't remember what tank, where it was, or even which country it was. I am starting to plan some places to visit on the trip and would like to take a look if possible. I would recognise the guy but don't know his name unfortunately.. It's a bit of a long shot but was it you I was talking to, or do you know who I was talking to, or do you know the tank museum? Sorry for the very vague post...
  14. Spoke to a Mont dealer in the UK yesterday to see if I could get some more info he didn't have any but reckoned the price would be around £6500. With the idea it's between the repsol and standard. He said that was purely his guess though. I hope he is wrong.
  15. Yep, could well be the stator. They did have a lot go. Don't let that put you off though I had two Rev 3's and neither of them had stator issues. Cracking bike. Like someone else said., check the spark, and if you have one, the next thing I would check is that fuel is getting through. Good luck
  16. Good video. Recognise most of the bits of ground too. One of them really takes me back.
  17. Thanks for the replays. Looks like I can put fat bars on without changing the top yoke.. Result.
  18. Hello I would like to put Fat Bars on my 315. Can you just change the top and bottom clamps to suit on the original top yoke or do you need to put a new top yoke on? Preferably I want vertical clamps without the mont standard tiller. Thanks Dave
  19. Thanks for the info. Bike loaded and heading up tomorrow. Roll on 11am Saturday.. Hopefully see you all there
  20. Hello I am riding the Highland 2 day Classic this weekend. I have seen the riding list on the IDMCC website but have not had any final instructions through. Is anyone from here riding? If so have you had any details through? Venue, start time etc? Hopefully see you up there. Thanks Dave

    My New 240

Sounds a good price to me. Funnily enough a mate of mine has just picked up a 240 and is possibly bringing that along to Dews Farm on Sunday too if that's where you mean.
  23. Thanks. Could be worth a punt for £25. Would be a lot cheaper and simpler than the registering process if it is... Cheers Dave
  24. That is a great help, thank you. Cheers Dave
  25. Hello Just after some advice. Pretty much getting there with the registering my Yam TY175. On the case with NOVA, have a dating letter from Yamaha etc. Just completing the V55/5. As trials bikes are exempt from type approval, can I leave all the boxes that say 'get this information from the certificate of conformity' blank? Or is certificate of conformity something completely different? Wheelbase, Mass etc? Thanks for your help. Cheers Dave
