  1. If you go early in the week book camping, if you go later you should be fine.
  2. Yes I appreciate that, would be unfair. Not saying it's right just guessing at what might have happened. It's happened in trials I have ridden in before.
  3. Although not strictly to the rules would it be a case that with so many riders over the time limit they made an exception on this occasion as they realised time was to tight?
  4. The riding list for the Reeth 3 day is on the Richmond club website for anyone who is waiting to hear if they got a ride. Looks like I am one of the lucky ones!!
  5. After losing our practice area to developers a few years ago, last year after a lot of hard work by a small group of members Milton Buzzards opened their new purpose built trials practice facility in Milton Keynes. As anyone from the surrounding area will know legal practice land is pretty much non existant in this part of the country, and lots of work has been done with tonnes of rocks and logs imported. The ground is being continually worked on to improve it further. If any potential members fancy checking out the new ground Milton Buzzard in association with the Milton Keynes Parks Trust are holding an open day on Saturday 24th March 11am to 2pm. Members will be there riding some demo sections and to chat to, the acu will be there to advise anyone who is new and wants to get involved and you can see the work that has been done so far. More the merrier!
  6. No gloves in those conditions! Hardcore. Probably wouldn't have been much use by that point though.
  7. Really bad news that it had to be cancelled, after all the hard work that must have gone into organising it. Well done for keeping everybody up to date. It can't be an easy decision to make but the right one in the circumstances. Hope you can find another date.
  8. I am just in the process of doing mine at the moment. You either need a certificate of newness which you should have got if you purchased the bike brand new from a dealer, this I think is valid for 6 months. If you don't have this you need to get a v55/5 form from the dvla and complete it. If you want an age related plate you will need a letter from the importer/ manufacturer stating the year of manufacture and importation and it would also help if it says vat has been paid and that it is exempt from type approval due to being a trials competition bike. If it is over 3 years old you need to get it mot'd first and then insured on the frame no. Once you have a insurance certificate send this, MOT, forms, id and a cheque for the tax and first registration fee (
  9. Yep it's a dog bone. People used to replace the dog bone with a larger one more meat at the bottom as they were a vulnerable on the rocks and got bashed up and knocked out of shape.
  10. From Looking at it I would say it's a 98. 2000 onwards had the multicouloured showa forks. and 99's had black stancions (not sure on the spelling) and paolis. This could have rubbed off I guess. Pretty sure that 2001 had the inboard rear caliper that this hasn't got. So I reckon it's a 98 with a chrome pipe. I had the pipe on my 98 chromed just before some scum bag nicked it, so certainly possible. Or it could just have a late front pipe as the old one was knackered.
  11. Deffo MTb jackets in my opinion. Try wiggle.co.I'm and chainreactioncycles.com. I have always had Altura ones and they have worked well/ been good value.
  12. He was awesome. Bearing in mind every other rider had just fived it, and been caught by their minder. His minder wasn't even up there waiting. I am convinced he planned the leap back to entertain the crowd as he just leveled it on the second attempt. The skip section was an awesome ride, and also loved exiting the pj1 section going backwards whilst in the air. Truly a different league unfortunately for everyone else. Fuji is always good to watch though and great exit on the cotton reels. Fajardo looked good as well on the Beta.
  13. Hello Matt The new bit of ground is alright. It is not massive but big enough to run a trial on and they have made the best of what they have. Buzzards are always looking to try and improve it as well, with new rocks and obstacles, bringing in JCB's and getting feedback off users. Like the old bit of ground can be claggy in the wet, and there is no shelter at this one but ideal to have a legal run out on the bike. Cheers Dave
  14. Hello Yep there are a few Milton Buzzards members I know of on here (me one of them). Lost the practice ground a few years back now, but after lots of hard work from other club members a new ground opened up last year. All a freindly bunch so if you join up just pop along when the ground is open for practice and have a ride and chat. Also have Berkhamsted in Kings Langley who have a practice ground and their own club house. Plenty of trials within an hour of you. Cheers Dave
  15. Dave Cooper do one that collapses down to fit in the boot of your car for about the same money. Looks like you would need quite a big boot from the pictures though
  16. I agree about 4rt's becoming harder to get hold of. I was after a 07 or 08 one but couldn't find a decent one. Ended up buying a clean 05. They seem to be holding their money well again. A year or so ago there seemed to be lots available at low prices but seems to have changed again now. Rode mine for the first time yesterday after 6 months away from trials and really enjoyed it. Completely different to the Evo I sold in the summer, and no doubt not as competitive (but for my level of riding, poor) I am no real disadvantage), and I think I had more fun riding the 4rt than I would have on the Evo. Or maybe just the fact that I hadn't ridden for a while. Sorry slightly off topic, but back to the point. I can see Honda pulling out in the near future. Although trials is probably a cheap world title for them, does the exposure it brings justify the investment?

    How Long 2T

I think you have hit the nail on the head. I have no problems with a lh kickstart, but don't mind which side it's on.

    How Long 2T

Interesting point, and I can see how it might put people off, but I think the majority of people shouldn't have a problem starting a 2t with their left leg once they hav tried it. Just down to peoples misconception. My left leg is completely knackered (lots of plates pins and screws) but i have had 3 Betas and never struggled to start them. If a Beta or any bike is a pig to start I think it would be the same way regardless of what side the kickstart is on.
  19. I've had 2 Rev 3's and an Evo (2004,2007 & 2010) my mates have each had (2003, 2006 and 2008) Rev 3's and since have had 2010 and 2012 Evos and none of us have ever had a stator go. Obviously people have had them go but I wouldn't let it put you off if it's a good bike.
  20. Some people used to take the fly wheel cover off and leave it off for a day or so after every ride/wash and then spray with wd40 or something similar. I wouldn't worry about the water pump casing if it's not leaking. Just check it when you next put new coolant in. That's what I would do anyway.
  21. Mudguards up to 06 should fit. 07 on won't. Lampkins direct or BVM offer pretty much next day service. Be warned though, they are not cheap.
  22. Yeah Pete sums it up in more detail than I could of. Don't get too worried about the stator if it's running fine, as I had my 04 from new for 3 years and never had a problem. Water pump housing did go which Lampkins replaced even though it was out of warranty. And although a lot of stators did go a lot didn't. But at that price like Pete says it could be a bail and you could end up spending another
  23. There was somethingthat I saw a few years ago at the dirt bike show. I think it was called proppaloc. You fixed it into the ground and when the bike was in it, the rear wheel was encased and a bar went through from the side. They claimed that a bike had never been stolen from one and from the looks of it I would believe them. Couldn't find it on the net when I looked. Also doesn't stop people nicking hits off the rest of the bike, firing it up etc.
  24. Depends on the condition of it really, but 1k is a good price I would say. Certainly fair. Statues can pack up on the rev 3's and corrosion inside the water pump casing so look for sign of leaks from there. Good bikes though. I had an 04 a few year back and liked it.
