  1. fitted a gecko rear tyre yesterday, on a 2013 300 evo, .Previously had an x lite rear, took it out for a practise along with a mate using an x lite rear, started at 4 psi . Did a variety of sections on our land streams rocks banks mud and roots .continued for an hour deliberately kjept ridind a sharp waterfall which would have an irc go down, In all situations never struggled for grip, Went for a drink and reduced pressure to 2.5 psi ,, rode 2 more laps of the same, and came away impressed,, mate got to our house and fitted one on the rear of his 250cc beta. Checked pressure today and still 2.5 psi,, trial at the weekend so I will leave that wheel on and give it another .. lets see how quickly they wear the edge of,,?
  2. could be a few things , front tyre worn, wrong pressure, front spokes loose, roller bearings , fork set wrongly , forks too much or too little through the yokes, front mudguard stay loose?
  3. Have to give credit where its due , this evenings trial finished at around 8.45 pm and the trial results are on the clubs website at 10 pm,, the same evening,, good stuff .. Bradford trials take a bow,,,
  4. NO one can comment unless you say where the trial was which club,,?? sounds like it was set too difficult/ ..
  5. Bruce weve had around 6 or seven evo,s with the keihin carb , only had one which had a slight problem overflowing , 1 remove carb and clean ,2 remove floats with the silver pin ,, it just slides out , when you remove the floats you will see that the needle is attatched to a little tang , with a thin piece of shaped wire, 3 take youre q tip , or cotton bud and carefully add a blob of toothpaste a give it a spin in the recess where the float needle sits, this helps to clean this area and gets a good seal, 4 as you look in the floatbowl youll see the brass over flow tube sticking up at an angle you can buy a tiny little stopper which reduces the diameter of this , it is a push in fit , this is available from gary or Richard at beta uk,, This little stopper vastly reduces any overflow from the carb as it sloshes about,, THE MIXTURE screw is not a static setting warmup the engine thoroughly and start with the screw around 1 full turn out from fully in and adjust until you get the best response ,, this can be anything from 1 turn to 2 , each engine is different , hope this helps Bruce,,

    Hmmmm

Have owned the 2013 evo for 3 weeks now, clutch worksbetter than any evo or rev 3 i have ever owned ,, can get neutral easily, better than a 2013 gas gas. airbox is now fully water tight, bar dropping it in a stream. Just taken me a while to get used to the super soft power, softest power ever had on a bike, but its the only bike i ever owned that i havent stalled yet ..... ever .. so far its very very good...

  17. 2012 evo when it was 3 weeks old ,stopped on its own , tried plugs carb etc ,, then discoonected kill switch behind right side panel and it fired 1st kick, this after me pushing back to the van to get some tools, why do they always play up when your furthest away from the van? fitted aftermarket kill switch and is great now,,
