Honda Cubs In The Ssdt ?
Hi Bo, I believe the great Eddy Lejeune started riding on C90's modified by his father, the rest is history! And you are right it is probably the most successful bike ever produced so maybe the old step through is'nt just as daft as people think. And it can be done!

Sad Loss For British Trials
My sentiments entirely Ishy. Norman complete with his pipe, is responsible for showing many a beginner myself included the best way through a section, and he was the first man I aimed to beat as I was learning my trade in the tough Yorkshire centre. He was a true gent and character and will be sadly missed, Thanks Norman RIP old pall, Blackie.

Classic Sections.
Hi Pitley, I thought there were five sections but I was'nt sure I do know you were knackered when you had finished the group!!!!! you are also right about Rob Sartin and Stefan Merriman and I seem to remember the tale about Malc aswell, also Tommi Ahvala came over and rode one year on the big Aprilia! Bloody brilliant section and trial shame it is no more, you could say the same about a lot of the big Nationals from back then.

Classic Sections.
Hi guys and galls, I've just been reading an old post about the classic Jack Wood 'River Kwai' section and all the stories that went with it and it got me thinking back about other classic sections from days gone bye, like 'Tremorithic' in the 'Wye Valley Traders' it was a cracking section in a fantasic trial (one of the best IMHO). If you didnt get up the step you had to be hauled up by two or three blokes using a rope and grappling hook, it made 'Witches Burn' look like a main road. It was 3rd gear from a standing start and slippery as hell, if you did manage to get up the step I think there were 3 more sections waiting for you straight after. Happy days

Pinky without a doubt, I once took one straight out of the crate/box ran it in with some gentle road miles, tightened the spokes and rode it in the ssdt the following week and all it needed all week was petrol! Brilliant bike and they come with a seat!

340 Bultaco Refurb
Hi, great restoration! sorry to hyjack your thread but can anyone confirm the correct colour match for an early 'Slimline Sherpa T' frame, I believe 'Ford Siver Fox' is the nearest but I just wondered if any of you guys know any different. It is actually for a 74' Bultaco Chispa I am restoring but it is basically a scaled down Sherpa T. thanks chaps

On Bike Video Camera 60's Style.
Artie Ratcliffe filming for 'C.H Wood' of Bradford, the footage was used on the 'Six from the Scottish Duke video' riding up The Devils Staircase. It was also used to make a promotional film for CASTROL oils. Incidentally this was the same bike he won the Scott Trial on in 1957,and secured 3rd place in the SSDT in 1958.
