Which Oil is best for these older motors? Currently using Castrol TTS, but is it too good? Mixing at 50:1..........is this about right or could I go up to 60 or 70 :1 on a better oil. Seemed to run a bit smoky @ 50:1 Also what's the best gearing set-up - Rear is currently on a 48t. However I seem to remember somebody mentioning 9/51t or was I imagining it??

Does anyone know of any other rear wheel spindle that will fit a godden swing arm, as the Yamaha TY250 spindle is smaller that the slot in the swing arm and has to be bushed to fit the slot as per TY250. The bushes on my bike are knackered and are no longer available from Yamaha. I believe that there is a more modern alternative, bit cant find out what. Thanks in advance. Ps I want to use the origional ty wheel and hub.

A good few years back (about 5-6 years ago) I sold a TY Majesty (mini iirc) on eBay, and I'm looking to trace the bike just out of interest to see what's happened to it. I'm hoping the owner's on here. Here are some definable details: - The bike was located at my parents house in Bradford - Engine was a 125cc bored out to 175cc - The bike sold on eBay for ~£940 - The person who bought the bike sent his son to collect it - There were no decals on the tank at the time if i recall correctly Would love to find out what's happened to the bike so if the owner recognises the above details please get in touch. I have some images somewhere I will try to dig them out so eve…

Hi Further to my recent post - I'm making progress with some of the major parts needed. As far as I can make out these Japanese spec bikes had a conventional instrument binnacle and a battery box, has any one out there got a fully specced version of one of these or a good scource of pictures - I really need to know which bits are missing and what they look like (part numbers etc). I'm building the bike for light road use and to do some green lane days so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tim

The ball plunger/ spring mechanism on my TY175 kick starter is not doing a great job of keeping the kick starter rotated in out of the way when riding. I tried a stronger spring but it is still not great. Is there a way to improve that function? I wonder about deepening the hole that the ball drops into when rotated in but don't know if that would help or make it worse. The fit of the kick-start lever to the shaft it rotates on is not like new but not bad for an old bike. I had a similar issue with a TLR200 but never came up with a good fix.

I am trying to build a tubeless rim onto my TY175 hub, have had trouble locating a hub in perfect condition, I have one spare hub that has some of the alloy casting broken off and another one that is perfect cosmeticaly but has a worn brake lining, has anyone had brake lining repaired and if so where and how much (my main rear wheel that is perfect I am going to retain with a tubed rim for any trials that won't allow tubeless tyres), it's for my majesty rebuild which is nearing completion will post a pic or two soon.
