Ay up folks, just rebuilt my 92 Yam mono engine with new mains, big end, con-rod, gudgeon pin, crank seals etc. Also put a s/h 270 barrel and head (higher compression looking at the facing) with shortened inlet tract on it. Rode it yesterday, powerful but pinks like hell and from idle it doesnt rev cleanly, only a little bit but its not smooth. Any ideas? Eiger

Has anyone got an old TYZ mudguard with the Hamilton full length decal fitted that they don't want and would like to sell, or alternatively, would be willing to take a good photo of and e-mail it to me. I thought I had one spare myself but it must have been sold on one of my earlier bikes. These aren't available anymore and I'd like to get another made. We've had one go but it's not quite right so need an original pattern, or good photo of, to work from. Or, if anyone has a bike with one fitted and isn't really bothered whether they have the decal on their bike or not, I'd be happy to buy it off you for the cost of a replacement new guard. Picture attached of the decal…

Hello there, just acquired an old 1974 Yamaha TY250A Trials bike. I'm in the process of doing a complete frame off restoration. Does anyone know of where I can find a Left Hand crankcase cover preferably with "250" stamped into the side. I have found pretty much every part I need to do the rebuild but I can't for the life of me find a L.H. crankcase cover. please help!!! All the usual parts sources say "unavailable" when contacted, they say indefinitely until further notice. Not much help and I can't complete the build. Thanks

  7. Well, more seal problems- the All Balls seals jammed half way into the seats on the fork tubes and had to be removed. I made a male plug the same size as the fork slider and plugged up the bottom end with a threaded thick aluminum washer. this lead out to another washer on the outside bottom end and another nut. this sealed up the bottom end and I poured the fork leg full of water. Then with the fork tube in special jaws on the vise I put the male plug thru the seal and it rested on the water inside the tube. the seal kept the water inside when I hit the top of the special plug with a hammer. After a few whacks with a 5 pound mallet, the seal was pushed out fro…

I was recently browsing all the results from the 2013 WTC and happened across the Manufacturer's table. I noticed that Yamaha finished the season with points. Honda did too but this could be due to there being a rider on a Honda branded Montesa so is understandable, but can anyone shed light on how Yamaha have managed to earn points? Taken from the FIM website: http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/trial/classifications/ I would love to see what bike has awarded Yamaha points. Cheers

Just bought a second hand pinky after a few years without a trial bike. It is a 1990 can anybody tell me what is the best mixture to run it on (it seems to be running rich at the moment) the previous owner who never actually competed on it ran it at 25:1. Also any other top tips as I previously trialed a water cooled Beta so will be first time on an air cooled mono. Thanks

Does any one know if there is another wheel that fits the front of a pinky. I was told some yz and Dts are similar

  20. Started by bambam_n_chunx,

Ive recently bought a tired pinky, I was hoping to restore it but due to having too many fantic projects on the go im thinking of selling. Its a good runner but needs a lot of tidying to make a good bike so looking for opinions on wether its better to sell as a complete bike or take my chance and break it. The only problem I have in selling is I think I may have been a bit generous in how much I paid for the bike.
