I found this and thought it was nice to see the old beautys in the thick of it!!

I've been writing up some of my bike projects (SWM's mainly) over the last 18 months or so and have recently migrated it to a new service provide and activated the twinshock.org.uk domain. I've been mainly using the hungerstone.net monicker up to now, but with the change it will be easier for other people to now come on board and contribute information on their twinshock projects and trials events If you want to participate or have any comments then drop me an email or visit the site

thinking of fitting disc front brake to a twinshock to be rode in club twinshock events and blue bar richmond ,is this allowed or is it not complying to rules also whats the rules on an early mono converted to twinshock

How long will it be before twinshocks are as modified as a pre 65 where the person with the deepest pockets wins. Some people are almost there

hi im looking into buying a twinshock trials bike as a project to restore for me and my dad and was wondering how much it would cost roughly to do one up to mint condition. also i would also like some guidance on the best places to look for bikes going cheap and how much could i pick up a runner for? cheers coxy

Found this on Youtube - arena type event from 80s Around 8 minutes in is priceless. Some of this wouldn't be allowed these days. Risk assement would demand frogmen on standby, riders must wear breathing apparatus, the pool must be drained, bikes must have airbags for buoyancy - and then health and safety would not allow it anyway as too dangerous to participants

I have seen a lot of post about modifying a twinshock bike to make it better for competition. I also understand that no one wants to see a modern bike(ie sherco) with a pair of shocks on it just so they can say it is a twinshock and compete in the twinshock class(sigh). I am riding a kt250 still stock enough to compete in ahrma events. But I can't for the life of me see how any modification on a twinshock bike can be that big of an advantage aside from disc brakes. A trick carb,300cc big bore kit,lowered pegs,hydraulic clutch,trick exhaust,tubless wheels,watercooling etc...do you really think modifying a twinshock will improve your score? I think not. Hi, I am getting ready to start modifying my Ty 175 frame and swing arm. I am looking for advice and possibly pictures of which mods work the best. I was planning on using either falcon or magical rear shocks with the swing arm extended with the top mount moved down,and possibly stock front forks with magical springs or a complete 250 conversion. Is it possible to heat the top tube/cut the center tube to change the steering angle to 26 degrees. Is it also possible if I made jigs can I make a stock frame into a close copy of a majesty 200 like I have seen done to a 250 on this site. I have access to a perfect Majesty 200 to use as a example. Hi folks...help! Last couple of events i've done, bike has started fine when cold...out the garage. But during the day, when i've stopped and switched off between sections its pig to restart. I notice i hear a loud electrical 'crack' when it fires from cold, and never get the same later during the day. when i hear the crack it inevitably starts. Besides 75cc, of course. Are the frames /geometries different? How do they compare when ridden?

Whats a ty 250 twinshock worth these days?? It's a friends bike, nice engine still running the autolube and has it's stand, but no lighting kit! Think it's a 78' or 79 model tank has the blue striping...

I finished my ty resto this week, so here are all the pics of each step (or at the least the ones i took pics of). Here it is how i got it in october last year, somebody had done everything in black, it was all wrong. here it is geting striped down.... next i sent the frame to the sandblasters, all the paint striped off it, then redid the frame in two pack silver, as close as i could get it to the original colour, going off old photos next step was the engine. as anyone whos ever riden at menai will know,menai mud stains! so everything was striped down, paint stiped, etc. The engine ran fine,but after pulling it apart, we found the bore was glazed, so i h…
