Hi Can anyone recommend someone to widen a rear bantam hub by 35mm? Really struggling to find someone who is comfortable doing it. I am in the south east but do travel north regularly thanks

Hello, im building a BSA Bantam D1 rigid trials bike and im at the stage of welding on some modern fold-able foot pegs to it. looking at where the pegs should go and the original ones are way too far forward, ive looked at my TY175 and they are now (after they have been moved back to improve balance aka Sammy miller type bolt on brackets) 25% from the rear axle and 75% from the front axle. Is there a magic measurement/percentage to give the best weight balance? Any suggestions or photos of your own mod that works would be great! Thanks Owen

Hi Numpty alert:!!!!!!! Just wondering what BSA Bantams are worth when modded. I know it depends on the level of mods and quality of the overal job but roughly speaking what are they worth? I am about to start building one but do not want to plough thousands into it for it only 900 quid ( i am new to the pre65's but wanting to get into it....ive seen them varying in price so not really sure?) Cheers

Hi all, so I have ended up with a C15 Road bike in my garage ready to convert into a trials bike. I realise that it will never be as good as an Otter or Drayton framed bike but it's all I've got to play with at present. So what I want to low is what hubs do I use to get laced to the 19 rear and 21 front rims, do I use the C15 hubs that I have or do I use something different? Do I use the C15 forks or enter the minefield of Fork / yoke /wheel options? Bearing in mind I would like to maybe upgrade to an Otter / Drayton frame one day. Im sure this has been asked to death so sorry for this but I need a shove in the right direction. The last bik…

I have the chance of a BSA C15 in road trim, are they relatively easy to convert for pre65 trials? When converted are they any good or are special frame kits etc required to make them competative?. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated as when these bikes were manufactured I wasn't even born!! Thanks

Afternoon, I have the opportunity to buy a 1963 BSA C15 frame no C15C *** engine no C15S *** which I think is a 1960. Does this frame make for a good LDT frame, It looks as though the rear seat hoop has been made wider by about 1-2inches in comparison to my standard C15 frame? is this a easy fix? I know that the engine if in standard form is a high compression engine, Probably not right for trailing! am I right in saying the gearing would be closer to the trials gearing? lastly any ideas on what I should be offering, it has a Sammy miller PVL system and is a runner although very snappy power delivery. Alloy petrol tank. 19inch wheels? I am at a point weather to con…

  18. For my sins, I have just bought a 1962 C15 (distributor model) which looks the part of a trials bike but has a standard road version engine. It has a 375 monobloc Amal carb. I am going to change the engine duplex sprocket for a 18T and the gearbox sprocket for a 13T with a 64T on the rear wheel. Once I have taken off the lights, got it to run smoothly at low revs and got used to Pirelli tyres I hope to trial it. Am I on the right track to have a usable machine or do I need to do anything else? I had heard that lengthening the inlet manifold helps with low revs and torque - does anyone know if this is true? I would like to find a kick start that clears the footpegs -…

I need to partly strip a 1963 Distributor C15 engine to check it over , it will be built as a std 250, as soft as possible . I am not up to speed on these only in gaining info in threads I have seen recently. Are there any weak areas to check, I am hoping to get away with top end strip for now , any thing else to check?/ It will be a long term project, just as long as the motor is sound. It kicks over with good compression, supposedly a runner a few years ago. Thanks in advance
