Hi all, My Norman trials was first registered (in mid 1962) to this dealership in Leeds, who kept hold of it for the first year of its life. Does anyone know anything about the shop itself or its owners? Norman competition bikes were only built to special order by this time, and its a little unusual that it was sold to a dealership so far away from Norman's backyard in Kent, although there is a possibility the bike was assembled by Raleigh/TI in Nottingham after their takeover. Bike was subseqently sold to a Mr. Kirkland in Otley. Norman's probably weren't the most competitive of bikes by the middle of '62, which might explain why the shop had it for a year, or of co…

Hi all... Just thought some of you might like to feast your eyes on this bike I shouldnt really post the pic, 'cause the owner doesnt know I even took it, but the guy who was servicing it, reckoned he wouldnt mind. Its been here in Hong Kong since it was new apparently..pre war engine and post war frame I was told by the mechanic working on it. Pretty nice eh!...wish it was mine!

Hi all, Just wondering what spark plug I should be using in my 500T. It's running a standard BTH TT magneto and the plug cap has no resistor in it. I do get a bit of sooting of the plug but I guess that's from running slow a lot. Thanks in advance.

When using the Norton Roadholder lower fork legs how are you anchoring the brake plate. Are you using a brake plate with a lug that engages in the slot between the raised alloy bars on the fork leg or a bolted on metal strip, presumably to the two bolts that secure the mudguard stay. If using a brake plate with a raised lug to engage in the fork leg, which hub/brake plate is most suitable.

As per the title really,in my quest for gradual improvement of my HT5 the forks are going to get bodged... They are pretty shot really,but I'm not interested in fitting modern internals etc,I just want to get the best out of the standard setup for now.I dont want to take it to bits as it just wont get put back together,there is too much else in my workshop thats in front of it.

Firstly who does this conversion? Secondly what's involved. i read here that the stanchions are machined down. Why if it's 35mm into 35mm? What's the bit about bondong/gluing them. I have basic engineering skills, so wondering why I can't do this myself? Thanks

My sons just bought a 1934 Royal Enfield, the cost of bits is killing him well the few we can find, as he is a humble apprentice. Its missing the Mag Dyno thing, only one we have seen is £300 and its not working so as its only for shows and wont be having much road use we are thinking of using a total loss battery powered system, has any one done this? Hi all, I was thinking of fitting an element type filter into the feed lineof my BSA c15, does anyone know of a suitable manifold(possibly from a scrapped car) that is easy to convert to use and that the elements are available for. Any assistance appreciated. Rgds
