  1. Started by rob748,

Hi i bought this bike last year to ride in the Pre 65 scottish the guy i bought it off had limited knowledge of the bikes history. He owned it for a number of years but had never used the bike and only bought it because his late brother had one . I have used it several times and its a beast. I was hoping someone out there recognised it as its very different to a standard Bullet . And yes I got i ride in the 2012 pre 65 scottish

Evenin` all and a merry Christmas to one and all. My Crusader is well on it`s way, by which I mean that I have reduced the base bike to its` component parts. My wheels are being prepared by Gerry Minshall as I write this but I have a query one of you types may be able to answer. Bearing in mind that I have a road box what rear wheel sprocket size would you recommend. I`ve no doubt the bike will climb but at the same time I don`t want it going beserk downhill and scaring the wotsit out of me. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Have fun, Hazel

Hi , anyone have a rough idea of the best gearing for a 1955 350 bullet for pre 65 trials? Is it done on final drive sprockets or can you change the engine sprocket? cheers Dave

My wife has been left this after her Grandfather passed away. All I know is that I believe he built it from parts he found/bought. Any help in identifying it would be much appreciated. It does run and seems to be in fairly good order, there are a few parts missing and I will be replacing them soon and hopefully riding it. Carl

Hi, anyone know which lucas model a 1953/4 redditch 350 bullet would use as my mag has no identity on it but i,m sure its lucas without the dynamo attached. Basically it has a fat blue spark and runs fine with a nice low tickover but when its hot the spark dissapears and re-appears at will and this is rather annoying (also sounds expensive ) . Its an anti-clockwise mag, also when the engine is running you cannot see an sparks on the points at all, is this normal? cheers Dave

This was left to my wife after her Grandfather passed away. We believe he acquired the necessary parts and built it himself. It ran well and was all there but it was "used". It was his favourite bike. So I decided to show it some love. The frame and swing arm have been powder coated, forks have all new internals and have been polished. The wheels have been polished and the brakes over hauled. The rear shocks were fubar'd so a very similar pair have been used. Both yokes have been powder coated and new bearings installed. The build so far

Can anyone help, building a Trifield but not sure what swinging arm to use. The frame is 1958 but the existing swinging arm will only allow a 17inch rear wheel. Any ideas! And does anyone have one. Thanks JOJOTUT

I have been nagged for so long by several people that I should give up on my old Honda and Gollner Honda and buy a lightweight 2 stroke. Well here is my latest 2 stroke! Well no-one categorically stated I should buy a '2 stroke trials bike' Thats it MOT tested now and proof of age in the post, it will be a trial riding this in modern traffic what with no clutch and little or no brakes as the 2 stroke oil fumes get on to the back wheel rim.

  14. Started by superhondaman,

Is there any reason why this system cannot be shortend so that the silencer sits tucked away where the oil tank was sited. Does it affect running to shorten the manifold pipe? Also how do you get a lighter clutch? apart from the right cable/routing what other mod's are there to get a lighter action?

Just looking at the results for the Westmoland Trial and it seems a shame that it had so few riders. 18 pre 65 and 22 Twin Shocks( i had enterd but an injury prevented me from riding) i would have thought being in the area it was there would have been quite a large entry given that the north of england must have loads of pre 65 and T/s riders. What happens to the hoards that enter or get turned away from the scottish? why are they not riding/supporting these trials? Are they all turning out for the next trial run by Ilkley & District? I wonder(like others, i am sure) just where the pre 65 scene is heading? Although the Reliance trial had about 120 riders! Why is the M…

A letter has been sent out with regulations for the next events in the above series. Its from the ACU Trials and Enduro Commitee. Basically it says a protest has been received regarding eligibility of certain bikes which have been competing in the series. It goes on to say that at future events there will be strict machine examination for compliance with the regulations especially in regard to class eligibility. Sounds like a good idea, although a shame if things have been allowed to get out of hand in the first place. Maybe it will encourage more to have a ride in this excellent series.

The performance of Pre 65 "heavyweights". Not C15's, not Cubs nor Bantams, but 4 stroke 350's, specifically the Enfield Bullets. Had Brit road bikes all my adult life, but my trials background experience is limited to air cooled 250 2 strokes, a Montesa 247 Cota a long time ago and currently a couple of ty250 mono's. Yes, I know they will be heavier, they won't turn as well etc etc. But, for anyone that knows, please tell me about engine performance compared to a 250 air cooled 2 stroke. Will they loft the front wheel over a log or obstacle with ease just on the throttle etc? Similar low to mid range torque to the ty monos (both have full weight flywheels)? Less…
