During the three years that we had a world round event at Hawkstone, Trials Central ran the very successful "Party In The Park" get-togethers. This was a chance for TC users to get together informally, have a few beers and put names to faces. With the world round in Fort William approaching, planning has started on what we're going to do this year. Firstly, there will be NO camping available at the Nevis Range Ski Area so that rules out doing what we did at Hawkstone. Finding another venue where it's possible to set up a secure area with marquee, camping, toilets etc where we're not going to bother anybody with noise is way too much hassle and likely to be very difficul…

I think Raga had the luck running with him this season, and Fuji had it running against him early on, looking at the years results, Fuji has actually beaten Raga, more times than Raga has beaten him, the illness that Fuji suffered during the US and Japan round's, cost him the championship in my opinion. Who's favorite for next year on current form ?

The following has been reported on the Indoor Trials Official website for Marseille. 'Dougie Lampkin (Repsol Montesa-HRC) has not even finished first lap after a big crash in section five. Due to the impact he has suffered several contusions.' Does anyone have any further news, how serious is the injury?

This is an e mail i have sent today to Eurosport, after having time off work to watch nothing. If i get a reply i will put it up on Trials central Would it be possible to obtain an explanation as to why programmes such as trials are put in the TV scheduling they do not appear to be broadcast? On many occasions there are no excuses as to why the events are cut from the schedule. I have just had the following email from the ACU regarding next years WTC. "We have received a provisional list from the FIM but at present it doesn't include a round in the UK. The only possibility would be Ireland which we have no knowledge of at present as they have their own Federation There are two 'tba' entries on the list so we will have to wait to see who they are. Okay, not sure I totally understand this myself (nor does anyone else by the looks of things!) and have a very confusing document in front of me that makes little sense, but as I understand it The riders have been drawn into pairs - one seeded rider against one non-seeded rider The pairs will ride against each other over a number of sections The best rider will qualify for the semi-final along with the best non-qualifier (six riders in total) The ride against each other thing in pairs will then be repeated. I see it's that time of year again to think about tickets for Sheffield indoor, haven't been for many years but think its time to give a visit again ( I went to the first) this time to take my 5 year old son. The big question is can you choose your seats when booking and where is a good area to sit (imagine too close is no good as too low) and where is a good place to stay close by? Any tips gratefully recieved.

That well known organiser of indoor trials has cancelled the Argentinian round of the indoor WTC. That means Raga has only the two remaining rounds Majorca and Madrid to somehow manage to prevent the inevitable coronation of the new heir apparent Dynamite Bou. Whilst this years riding, especially the talents of Bou, has revived interest in the indoor series, its seems as if Octagon are doing their very best to turn it into one big farce.

Is it sh!t or bust for dougie this weekend, if he doesn't win is the fat lady practising her octaves? My prediction is he does the biz and stuns fuji who starts to wilt under pressure, I hope.

Going to Sheffield in January and was wondering whether there will be any Brits riding?

I enjoyed Shirty's article giving an inside view of the recent contract moves at WTC level. Taking his comment that the top 5 are on good money, and the rest aren't, is anyone prepared to say what the ball-park figures might be these days? Trials obviously involves as much commitment and risk as any other sport, and the period of maximum earning potential is probably about the same as many others (around ten years at the most for the majority of competitors?) so it would be interesting to see how the rewards compare. I suspect trials riders are relatively under-paid, simply because the sport isn't awash with money like some others. I know I stand to be shot down as, lik…
