I was reading the TC write-up of the Japanese mens WTC round. A number of Yamaha riders were mentioned.... What model of Yamaha were they riding? Is this a Japan only model? Dom

I'm a litle confused about the new minder rule and what is it supposed to achieve. This ruling was brought in at the request of the factories to cut costs, yet at Mancha Real the factories still appeared to have the same number of minders, albeit only one would actually be in the section the rest would be shouting out the time, looking after bikes etc. The severity of the sections has not been reduced to account for the fact the riders only had one minder and there were certainly plenty of scary sections were more than one minder was needed. It just appears that if anyone has lost out from this ruling then it is the riders.

7 rounds for the WTC? F1 is trying to extend the championship and we are contracting... Has the world gone mad? I don't really know the rules but it seems to me that the current rules have bred a kind of super rider that 0.01% of us can aspire to... This WTC is so far removed from the grass roots of the sport. Myself as an also ran rode in the same trial as Bernie Schreiber in the 80's .. We could relate to the severity of the sections and fail suitably. These days we need to actually need to return to work after the weekend event. So why has the WTC come down to 7 rounds....I guess it's all about money..... So yes, the world has gone mad!!!!!

By my reckoning the season reaches halfway point in France on Saturday night. The Championship orders a bit different to previous years, and Fuji's had 5 day wins, Raga 2 and Dougie only 1. All the remaining rounds are taking place in Southern Europe, so probably likely to be very dry. I wonder what the riders school style reports would look like: Fuji (Prefect)- A good term, excellent progress, keep up the good work. Dougie (Head Boy) - A little disappointing, but a concerned effort with plenty of revision should see success at the end of the term. Raga - We know he can do it, but he lacks concentration sometimes and easily distracted. Likes to show off in front …

Head. 1 - Bou 2 - Raga 3 - Fuji 4 - Cabestany 5 - Lampkin 6 - Fajardo 7 - Dibs Heart 1 - Lampkin 2 - Dibs 3 - Brown. Would be great if Doug managed to pull off that 100th win, unlikely but you never know. Doug generally starts the WTC strong and with it being two days and a relatively 'home' fixture in Northern Ireland.

The question has been posed many times about how many titles Toni Bou may win or indeed who may beat him. This raises a broader of issue of how riders are developed through the Youth and Junior ranks up to WTC level. The top 5 riders have not changed in many years, with only Doug's decline from 1st to 6th changing the consititution of the top five. What is notable is that the five World Youth Champions, all who have been crowned since 2005, currently riding WTC (Challenor, Wigg, Gubian, Brown & Dabill) with Ferrer having joined them in the last round, have not made an impression on the top five. This stagnation of the top 5 & lack of progress from Youth to Worl…

I was wondering on the specification of the top riders or indeed any riders motor homes. For example which ones are capable of accomodating 4 extra persons and what is the capacity of the fridge, in litres, or cans.

We have lots of topics on here about how we're riding under the wrong rules and about the adequacies or inadequacies of volunteer observers. One subject we should discuss is the section designs at WTC level. In the run up to Penrith, I read Fuji describe the venue as almost like an indoor trial, outdoors! Since the rules changed to no-stop (like it or not, they did, so let's not start that moan again today) I've not seen much change in the layout of the WTC sections. There is thus very little in the section layout or terrain to encourage the riders to keep moving. Consequently they sail as close to the edge of stopping as they feel they will get away with. I looked at…

Whats the craic with the world championship? Most of them are now man made sections what ever happened to the good wtc were it was a 2 day event and of mainly natural sections apart from the 15th. Is there really any point in going all over the world to ride man made sections that could easily be set up in Spain? The championship has gone downhill so much since 2004 i think. From reading Lampkins and Dabill's trial report from Italy they think it wasnt a good trial either.

Hello! Anyone going to Spain or Andorra? I'll fly from Sweden on Friday. Looks like a good trial in Spain around a race course with decent walking distance between sections. Have anyone been in La Rabassa before? TJ

Good luck to all the young British lads in the Spanish and french world rounds. Especially to Wiggy and Jono Richardson who are moving up to tackle the next class, wiggy the top route to make the fourth brit in the pro class and Jono in the juniors. Good luck to Jack challoner who we know can win the Junior class, and to morph and Jack shepard, and every other British man and boy. ENGLAND EXPECTS!! (is that a bit over the top?)
