Hello again everyone, Planning ahead a bit for our first adventure on the new to us bikes. Got some fuel mixed, some semblance of a tool kit and bike stand. What I'm missing I think are spares for on the day. I figured a pair of levers would be one item, but are there any other items we should carry with us routinely on days out? We're just beginners, so we won't be riding hard. Thanks

We all expect a new 4-stroke form Montesa for 2005, what about all the others? Are we now gonna have Fantic and Ossa in the competition? Will be interesting!

Hi I haven't had a trials bike since 2011, when I did some classic and twinshock trials. Im looking to get back into it, but with a modern bike, doing some easy roots. I dont want brand new, but want something with parts readily available. I need some advise on what make and age of bike. I have about £2500 to spend Thanks in advance

My spark plugs were always turning black (slightly wet) even on a lean-ish carb. After new piston rings, crank seals, clean air filter and carb and electrical inspection it still fouled plugs, the bike still started first kick with choke and ran fine. Then when i checked the plug once i measured the gap and it was 0.032", after gapping it to the recommended 0.020" the bike sounded leaner without actually adjusting the carb. Can a incorrect spark plug gap rich foul plugs?, i have always thought that the larger the gap the hotter the plug will run so why would it rich foul???

Having just finished reading the 'Samy Miller' story i was wondering if there are any other books out there, i'm not bothered about the age, i quite like older stuff. Are there many or any more books out there on Trials or Trails riders, can anyone recomend anything?

Hello, Just wondering having read the post a little further down with regards to this subject. I have an '02 Montesa 315R and when i purchased the bike i was advised to use 25ml of oil to every Liter of fuel... Does this sound about right for you guys out their that are also running similar bikes?? I seem to remember seeing something in the manual about the fuel mixture but i'm currently offshore on the rigs and don't have access to it until i get home... Regards, Ben. P.S Sorry if i seem to be posting alot but i'm new to the scene and am quite excited / enthralled in my recent adventure into riding.

I have had my TYZ forks apart, getting them back together gives me a litte challange, though.. I belive this is a 1994. There are two metal "cups", I belive they go in first, followed by the cartridge? Problem is I cant get the cartridge to go all the way down in the bottom tubes, which means that I cant enter the bolts that hold the cartridge to the bottom tube. (hope you understand what I'm trying to say.. ) Is there anywhere on the net that I can download a workshop manual? Thanks!

Following the piece in last weeks TMX suggesting that the ACU is interested in working with other organising bodies to further the interests of the sport, would it be a good start to try and make some positive moves in regard to providing help/advice to clubs who may be in a position to consider buying land?

How quickly do the new Xlight tyres wear compared with say a standard Michelin X11? I've been told that quotes "they are good but don't last as long." Is that true?

Hi guys, I got a trails bike to improve my go fast riding. Well it did that very well. But I also found myself hooked on trials in a big way. Now I need a buddy to ride trials with but all my mates ride enduro or mx bikes. I have a large backyard with a bunch of trials stuff to play on, and a mx track. My dirt bike club has an event here every summer. What I want, is to set up some fun trials type stuff that my enduro and mx mates can ride. I want fun stuff that's not to dangerous like most of what I have out there. Stuff that may lead to them buying a trials bike. Stuff that would showcase slow riding skills. Got any ideas for me. Thanks guys!
