Hi all Has anyone had experience with replacing the front fork bushes on a TLR 200 (35mm forks)? I have a set stripped down for an overhaul and noticed that the bushes are showing signs of wear. How easily should they come out? Interestingly, there is no part number showing in the parts manual for the bushes! Maybe they are not supposed to be replaced? Any help appreciated.

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has fitted an OKO 24mm flatslide carb (copy of Kehin PKW) to their TLR? If just fitted one (with a lot of mucking about) pilot is #55, main is #118. Needle on centre groove. Runs ok to mid throttle, then like ***** above that. Just wondering what others have done.

Hey guys, I dont have my TLR200 restoration bike yet, still keeping my eye out (pretty hard to find in Canada). In the mean time, I have been reading and reading the various restoration projects. I plan to modify the steering head angle. I have read a couple of posts and I will insert 6mm in the top tube for a 2 degree angle change. But what about the swing arm? How much do I lengthen it out? Where should I make the cut - will it screw up the shock length? If anyone has any pictures.... thanks!

Just picked up a tl250. The kick start lever needs to be replaced and I was wondering what other models shared the same part. I searched the oem part number on eBay but I got a kick start arm for a ton of other bikes also. Anyone have a clue? Thanks in advance!

I have been looking for a vintage trials bike. This came up the other day. One owner 1976 TL 250 Honda. 85ish% complete. Came with original owners manual and the original MSO from St Johns Honda bought in 77. It had sat for 10+ years. The 72 year old that owned it was a really cool dude. It would not run when I showed up. I asked him if he would mind if I spent an hour or so trying to get it started. If we got it goin I would give him his asking price. Fresh oil/gas and a shot of starting fluid and she was running. I took it around the yard...stuck throttle cable would barely let it rev, no brakes, but it sounded healthy, and shifted through the gears great. I wheele…

Hello friends, yet another noob question..please forgive my continued ignorance and inexperience! I have looked online prior to posting but just got confused by all the conflicting info out there. I am going to try to replace the rear tire myself (never done it before) and have a question regarding rim locks. The bike doesn't currently have one and I run at about 10psi and haven't had any problems (it was like this when I got it). Should I put one in now just to be safe- is that the done thing, or is it ok without? And if so, does the rim lock go in first and then you mount the tire, or do you mount the tire then put in the rim lock? I think I need to drill a ho…

Does anyone have a procedure for adjusting the compression release cable? I understand the engine must be rotated a certain position and then the cable adjusted for a certain measurement somewhere. Any clarification would be great. Once it is properly adjusted, perhaps some advice on the best way to kick it over.

Any help, greatly appreciated... I'm struggling! I recently purchased a Honda RS200T twin shock. Unfortunately, a PO registered the bike with DVLA as manufactured 1985, when Honda only produced these from 1979-1981! Trying to correct this error, I've obtained proof (Dating Certificate), from Honda Owners Club (GB), confirming 1979 as YOM - Honda GB and Japan, weren't able to assist... but DVLA won't accept and are asking for more info! They've suggested an excerpt of the production record from Honda's worldwide database, amongst other things! Where could I locate that?!? I'm running out of ideas, clearly the bike has been incorrectly registered, but wh…

Hi all, I've bought a 1983 MD09 TLR200, so a 'proper' TLR200 vs the Reflex. The only Clymer manual I could see on Haynes is on its way to me, but I'm aware some parts may not be correct. For example it looks like front sprockets (JTF329) are different to the Reflex (JTF328). I've ordered the 329's (PO had it geared very high as a commuter...!) I want to buy a new coil/ht/cap as the original cap is a bit past-it and a spare in the box would be best. Online the only ignition coils I can see are for 1986/87. Any idea of a cross-reference for what parts are compatible between the 1983 and the 86/87? Thanks.

Hello friends, hoping someone with more knowledge than I could help with a question!... I have a TLR reflex that I use for trials, however it is fully road legal as I need to ride to my spots. Is there any way one could install some kind of switch to essentially turn the 'lighting' circuit off but keep the bike running? i was told it runs 2 seperate circuits.... Currently the woods are mid winter bare and the lack of leaf cover makes me quite visible to passers by (cop callers). Thealways on headlight esp can be seen a mile off! just wondering if one could install a 'stealth' option...has anyone done this? Not sure where in the wiring one would put it or if it…

Probably a question I'll get beat up on, but I'm a new owner to a very custom TRL200 trials bike. The bike rides Extremely well, but I've always rode 2-stroke bikes (Bultacos, TY's, SWM, COTA's) and just don't like the engine braking (after throttle is shut off), as it's quite noticeable and "jerky". This is not clutch related on clutch engagement, as I already have the anit-jutter kit installed (which makes a tremendous difference). I assume lower gearing would help some, but it's already been geared down. Does anybody have any tips/tricks (besides "get used to it") or engine/head modifications? My bike has a ATC 200X head on it. p.s. I rode the TLR back-to-b…
