On reading the sad news of the passing away of Brian Fowler, I reflected that a lot of us must have had contact with him over the years. I certainly had a lot to thank him for in the past as he arranged rides with Beamish Suzuki and Fantic for me. We will miss his enthusiasm for our sport, he truly was a big man in all ways.

Well perce says that Marky would have been on here if he had his new bike so what's the latest on the 4rt arrivals, another week/fortnight??? James Lampkin was supposed to be on one in the lakes, he's not sure if it will be here for the Scott. the plot thickens.

Just noticed a comment on Lochabers website about unauthorised riding, and of course we heard many similar ones on these boards after the SSDT and the Pre-65 SSDT. This is a subject that is almost certainly going to come up more and more following the "right-to roam" public access movement and all it entails. It does not seem to be generally known but many private landowners receive huge amounts of public money for various schemes involving land management, tree regeneration and, most importantly, unrestricted public access for all forms of recreation. This can involve such activities as canoeing down salmon rivers and trail biking over the hills during the deer stalkin…

I did the Thames MCC in West Horsley on Sunday and had a great day out. The trial was one of the best organised I have been to and made it such a pleasure to compete (if that's the right word for my expected cricket score!). I'd like to publically thank any of the organisers on here for the time they put in and also to severely beat with a large baseball bat whoever laid out sections 6 and 11. (Just joking, but they were a bit stiff). Did anybody clear section 11? I did the easy (ha) route and struggled through it for a total of 11/15. I did hear that a bloke riding a DOT got through on a 1 which was pretty impressive stuff. Anyway thanks again to all the organise…

Where's the best place to spectate at the Scott? Despite living reasonably close, I don't know the area very well and I've heard that the roads around the more easily accessible sections get very busy so it's worth making the effort to hoof it a bit. Can anyone recommend somewhere to park up that's within reasonable walking distance of at least a couple of sections (I'm assuming that non-competing bikes aren't allowed)? Would the paddock be a good place to start or would I just be adding to the congestion?

Great championship win for Steve, well done. Looking at the point spread and the photo's of the sections, this it the type of trial that will make the championship grow. Now if they could only see this at world level they may get more than three riders capable of getting on the podium.

Our BC round starting off from the new Ice Factor complex. Sections completely different from last year. More traditional but don't let that fool you with some streams having numerous steps rangeing from 4 -15 in height. Trial more suitable for the present rules. Practise starts on Sat 4-6.Trial starts 9am the following morning. The B C still has to be decided so come along and see Steve Colley attempting to close the series as Champion or push current champion Graham Jarvis for an outright win on the day!Good spectating. Left an Email with the ACU in the Midlands centre but no reply ? If anyone knows who to contact please let me know ?! Is there a list of places to practice on Trials Central anywhere ? I have a few wicked places to practice on my doorstep but I need a bit of variation ! Also is Hawks Nest in Buxton still open to bikes ? Thanks JonH
