I need a new tyre pressure gauge. I've just broken my Apico 0-15 psi one by putting it on a new tyre that had been left at very high pressure. As I don't have a separate gauge for my cars, I am thinking of getting a digital gauge that would do both. I'm proposing digital because it will still be readable at normal trials pressures, but does it actually read accurately down at 2.5 psi? Any opinions? Any recommendations?

Hello All, Hope you can help. I have always been interested in off - road bikes, motorcross,trial's and quad's. Now here comes the question's, Before I decide to take up Trial riding as another hobby/sport I want to actually give it ago pre spending my cash, I don't want to lay out my money for something that I aint going to take to. Is there anywhere that does taster session's? So you can give it a try before you buy sort of thing. Was channel hopping the other night and came across Traffic Cops on Watch. Who was the clown that tried to outrun South Yorks Police on a Trials bike? Lost the traffic car by going off-road, but their helicopter tracked him right to his house. 20 year old, wearing what looked like a blue Clice jacket and they said the bike wasn't stolen.

I have no connection to TTRG and would not presume to try to sway anyone's opinion on recently highlighted matters via this forum but understand that the SACU sent proposals to their clubs neary a fortnight ago. The gist of the proposals seems to do away with the current postcode lottery regarding licence costs. Does anyone know if SACU clubs have actually passed this info on to their members as the SACU seems to be desirous of getting opinion from as wide an audience as possible?

i'm looking at either of the above as my first bike to do some local comps on but also want to use it for a bit of green laning,obviously i'd have to fit he long range kit to the beta and do some other mods to make it road legal but he scorpa long ride wouldn't need much work. anyone got any advice on either as to which would be more suitable? or whch is the better bike? ta

Im looking at buying a Vertigo vertical DL 2018 300cc, Am I doing the right thing, looks mint condition & states it as only been used in local trials. Do they have a dry & wet switch to change the mapping? People say they can eat plugs, & can have electrical issues, Im no trial rider but my two sons are,, Beta 300 4 stroke, GasGas 280 2 stroke, and want to do local trials. I did win a trials once,, G Limber champion back in 1980 but now 59 might not be as easy! please any advice would be greatly appreciated. if you have had an 2018 model or been around them that would be so helpfull.

I would appreciate a bit of guidance on marking riders attempts at sections in an event like the recent Brian Fowler Memorial Trial. If a rider slides backwards, let us say half a metre or a couple of feet to be clear, in control and feet up, on for example one of those big sloping rock sections what should the observer score? Is it a failure, a 1 mark penalty or nothing? The riders certainly expected no penalty at that trial for example. Secondly if a rider has a clear failure in the middle of the section should they then immediately leave the section without trying to complete it as they are no longer being 'observed.' as im sure you are aware, in briton we have generally two sets of rules to ride with stoping allowed and stoping not allowed-(personally i think worse) so im wondering why we have the no-stop rule as i can not figure out why? as basically if you follow no stop rules to the 'letter of the law' you either get a clean, or a 5 )or you keep it rolling using the spider technique!) Also i dont see any draw backs to stop one as when using this rule you still get marks for stopping so you try not to stop but if its necacery its only the one not a five and i never see this rule 'clogging up the sections' if any thing stop five would be worse as you tend to 'rush through' and fiv…

As it's on my doorstep, almost literally, I went up to spectate at Hookwood last weekend. Some of those sections looked truly gruesome, especially given the amount of mud that was around. I was having difficulty standing up on two feet, let alone two wheels! Hats off to all of the competitors for sticking at it and rewarding us all with a great day; very well done!

We had a trial at Chads farm today. The routes were all definitely ramped up for difficulty levels. On the first section we did.... section 8 , because there were so many people, I did Yellow AND cleared it, then I did the red, which was a lot more complex.... and managed to fall off good and propper, smacking my knee and landing on my side.... below my hip, but above my thigh (no idea what that area is called) and by the time the day waqs over 5 hrs later it was quite sensitive. Is there any difference between how ACU and AMCA trials mark Non-stop trials. I have read the non-stop rules of a AMCA club and they differ from the ACU's TSR22B definition. Without going into too much detail it more or less says a stop of more than 3 seconds is one mark lost. Footing once whilst stopped 2. My interpretation of TSR22B is if you stop, it's a five.
