I grew up in the early and mid seventies with TMX having loads of evocative black and white photos of bikes in woods,up to the hubs in mud etc. the sort of stuff that to me was magic. the ads were always full of loads of bikes locally never mind nationally and there seemed to be local trials reports every week. with the advent of sites such as this, the arrival of eblag and other sales sites the content of the weekly paper has been ravaged and no doubt its sales. ( no reflection i'm sure of the efforts of a valiant very few in morecambe) i feel that a vibrant weekly trials newspaper/ magazine is a lifeblood of the sport. i believe that more photos and articles on bike …

Does anybody know if any of the North East dealers do demos on all bikes, and if possible ones with some decent trialing ground. Sadly one of last years biggest montesa fans is considering a change ! Thanks,

First trial of the season for the Tubby Trials Team. 3 members participated at birchwood farm today. The course was well laid out and the observers were keen and fair. The weather pleasant but this mornings showers made things interesting. Thanks to the club! Look forward to the next outing.

As I have already found out through a previous thread, a majority of peeps on here don't want to pay any money towards youth development so instead of collecting trophies etc, could they not receive money to help them finance their fledging careers. Or fuel tokens or something along those lines. Anything that will help ease the cost to the families? what do you think?

For Ayrshire enthusiasts : Just discovered that one of the finest offroad practice areas is now permanently closed (The Mauchline bing nr Ramsay agricultural) I was informed that due to the level of illegal activities (criminal) dumping and violence and abuse targeted at the owners of the access road - The police and part owners of the land (British Coal) have agreed to close access to the bing. Over the years, this bing had developed into one of the finest local (unofficial) offroad practice areas to be found. On any given Sunday you could find a mix of motocross, quad, trials, 4x4 enthusiasts etc. enjoying the 100% perfect site. This bing had everything. I…

Anyone know anything about OKO carbs. They look very like the Keihin but seem to be selling in Spain for a lot less money. Are they well made and are they available in Britain? I'd be interested in hearing any feedback from anyone who's tried one. cheers.

Good evening, can someone please tell me if there is any reason why I could not enter an AMCA trial. I seem to recall there being a rule that if you were an ACU license holder you weren't permitted to ride in AMCA events or have I got that totally wrong?. Cheers in advance.

EVIDENCE SOUGHT ON GREEN LANES The CLA in the North is asking to hear from members with experience of vehicles, such as 4x4s and motorbikes, using green lanes as the Government sets up a new working group to look at the issue. The Green Lanes Environmental Action Movement (GLEAM), which is expected to be represented on this group, is seeking information about problems in as many areas of the country as possible to convince both the Government and potential allies on the group about the seriousness of the issue. If you have any examples of problems with green lanes, please email xxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxx.org.uk and we will pass this on to GLEAM. Please send: · Digital…

I bought my first trials bike in December last year, rode it for the first time Sun Jan 3rd... ..and not again until lockdown allowed in April. I'm a cowardly novice that can do rudimentary basics, but that's it. I've entered a Sidcup Club (Canada Heights) practice trial as I'm keen to try real sections and learn more, but know I'll be either getting fives or taking fives everywhere! Will my lack of ability frustrate more seasoned riders, or is it accepted (dare I even say encouraged?) that new riders need to start somewhere?

Hello, I used to ride trials about 4 years ago but was forced to stop when my bike was stolen, Ive recently started riding again and im trying to get back to all my old practice spots. One of the places I used to ride was burycliffe quarry near Elton, I used to put 2 quid in the box at the house down the road and pick up the key for the gate, however ive now been told that its changed so you need membership to ride there, does anyone know how I go about getting membership for this place as its my favorite place to ride. Any help much appreciated!! All the best Tom
