UK Trials Talk

Is it time to consider changing the rule regarding trials on remembrance sunday. Do other sports and events not run on this date or is it just motorsport? Do shops shut? Does everyone else not do what they want on this date? Surely it would be better to run charity events on this date, have a minutes silence at the start at 11am and raise some money for good causes. Can any of the older bike folk remember the name of the bike shop just down from the dancing hall near the fire station, i google mapped it and it looks like its an empty building now. Might have just been dunfermline motorcycles but cant remember now. Any idea why it closed and when also appreciated. I noticed county motors has also gone, although it seems its repairing motor vehicles under another name. I moved away in the 70s and a bit disapointed when I returned last year for a visit to see them gone. In those days there also used to be a guy called wullie pitbladdow who kept most of the parts for the british bikes but he is gone now also and new houses built there

With the rising popularity of Twinshocks and Aircooled Monos in UK Trials, with separate classes and the Kia Championship, does anyone think it will be extended for early watercooled Monos, say pre 1995, in the future Say Aprillia Climber/Beta Synt/Yam TYZ and the like?

hi, looking for mainly trial practice tracks that I can use. Dont currently have the time to compete as i work weekends but still need to ride. Dont mind joining clubs or working on the course so if anyone knows of clubs or tracks in Norfolk let me know.

I've heard its mostly an enduro place, but that there are a few brooks, and climbs there which are OK for trials. I gather it is somewhere near mid wales?? THanks in advance for any info. STU

Title says it all really.. What does everyone think who’s the best to go to for some training ? Inch perfect? Stu day ? I know Dabill does some training sometimes .. Plan on having a good training day on my birthday while everyone’s working ?

i think it was around 2 years ago since i sold my last bike and have always missed a sunday meet since recently ive been looking for a used bike to get back out riding and for some reason the bikes i was riding and selling on to upgrade ect are worth nearly twice they were 2 years ago i mean im seeing 15 year old shercos priced ar over £2000 i remember selling a 05 sherco 250 in 2010 for £1200 and i had a 2012 gasgas 280 and in 2016 sold it for £1900 so how come now id need to part with almost £3000 for the same bike ? that is just to name a couple of examples what have i missed? lol

I have a situation where I live that I cannot keep a trials bike but still want to ride one. So I had an idea! Now would someone out there in the West Midlands area be willing to look after a bike for me if I bought one, then bring it to trials events on a regular basis and look after it and maintain it after the trial? For this I would pay all costs plus a few bob on top. I don't want to take the p*** so I would make sure it is worth someone's while to do this. Anybody interested in something like this? At our Stourbridge trial on Saturday only 14 riders turned up, even allowing for the current economic climate etc this was a very disappointing turn out I know there was a centre trial on the Sunday but i understand earlier in the week only 16 riders had entered for this event While we understand that we will probably never see the return to our 40-50 rider average entry there must be something we can do to increase our entries to something near a breakeven figure. The next Stourbridge trial will be late April early May at Hanley Childe and those of you who know how good the venue is will also know how much work is needed to put a trial on there. Hi all Can anyone recommend a trials club near the Bridgnorth area of Shropshire. I've heard there is a club at Church Stretton, one based at Stourbridge and one at Bewdley. Does anyone have any preferences??? I'm a total beginner in my thirties and was looking for somewhere to show me the ropes. Thanks

What do u think about the B class riders having to be on a 125 bike because i've just had to change to a 125 because of me being a B class rider They are allowed on a biger bike untill 1/1/2006 then they have to be on a 125 machine untill there 17th birthday Sherco Mad

For all the years I have been involved in trials either riding or observing I have never really come to terms with the ruling that once the front spindle of a bike has passed the end section pegs it's classed as section completed, just recently whilst observing a section a rider entered the start gate rode the section so far with a clean, the section end pegs was at the top of a bank which was wet and slippy the rider managed to get his front wheel past the end pegs, but with his back wheel still spinning slid back down into the section, the rider pushed the bike out of the section, as I looked to a club official who was watching he said I have to mark the rider as clean,…

I was wondering if there are any trials clubs or events held in the Scottish Borders?There seems to be plenty of events elsewhere in the country but few if any in the Borders. cheers the noo Brian
