Anybody else seen the riding number list for this years SSDT? http://www.ssdt.org/images/stories/2014Documents/2014%20Riding%20Published.pdf Dougie (130) is down as riding a '0'. Is this just a very unfortunate typo, or a tactical move to keep under wraps what he'll actually be riding? Will this new Vertigo get it's first outing........?

As the mother of all trials is fast approaching I am thinking about the last few bits and bobs, which of the above is best? The rucksack I can see being a bit of a faf having to put it on and take it off, but all your kit will be in one place and you will be able to carry more (gloves waterproofs etc) the bum bag may not be as big and energy draining but limited on space, nothing at all!!!! dont think I want to take that risk. whats the opinions of the TC population???

I have been fairly quiet on the subject of unofficial riders at the ssdt this year, leaving the voices of others to make the point. HOWEVER - today i received an official letter from the Forestry Commission expressing their concern about the unauthorised use of the forest track along the North side of Loch Lochy on the Tuesday of the event. The Forestry Commission are one of our main landowners who welcome us back year after year and a lot of the land used by the event is owned by them (a lot of it is open hill - they dont own just forests). A formal letter of concern from them requires to be taken seriously. Apparently on Tuesday there was a road traffic accident …

Looking at the front page of Trials Central it looks more like Trials Rental this week. With all the UK importers offering new machines for rent for this years SSDT. I have bought bikes for the event, and rented bikes, and I must add, renting is the way to go, you get an new machine ready to go at the start of the week, full backup through the week, and you can walk away from her at the end of the week without wondering if she is pregnant or not. and go for a

Alexz Wigg (Gas Gas) has now taken the outright lead of the 2013 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) after losing three marks on the third day of competition. The 2010 SSDT winner has close opposition from Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) whose dream of a seventh win remains a real possibility as he sits just one mark behind Wigg overall. He too dropped three marks on what was his early day. Sam Connor (Beta) who had begun the day carrying a yellow leader board along with Wigg, notched up five marks on day three and now trails the leading duo by two and one marks respectively. Local rider Gary Macdonald will be pleased with his day's work having now ridden himself into fifth spot o…

Hi On re-building my 1971 Bultaco M80 slimline I'm re-discovering some dabs of grey paint that I take to be seals from the Scottish. I'm assuming that this bike was ridden in the 1972 Scottish by Karl Rowbotham from Kidderminster. Can anyone confirm (or otherwise) that:- 1) Grey seals were used in 1972. 2) If not, a year when grey seals were used. 3) Karl Rowbotham rode a 244cc Bultaco in the 1972 SSDT and his number. 4) Any pics would be more than fabulous. Thanks in anticipation. Kind Regards Sparks

Want to cram in as much as possible on that day plan is to start at Leanachan also do Lagnaha and Town Hall Brae can anyone recommend a group inbetween that I stand a chance of getting parked at? Was thinking Blackwater or Coire Mhorair, are these groups ok for spectators? Cheers Dave
