SSDT Chat

Such a popular event it deserves it's own forum!

Hi all I am going to attend this years SSDT,but want to make sure i get to see two sections, being:The pipeline and the other is one that is always featured on DVD's,it is were they go under a road bridge which is always full of spectators and climb up the stream over rocks.I hope this is good enough descripton. My main question is were are both of these sections so i can plan to see both, also are they at opposite ends of the trial,or by any good luck, within a couple of days of each other.Any help would be great. Regards David

Good friend and local club rider Duncan Mitchell has put his TYZ up for sale. Now riding a Scorpa, Duncan has decided not to enter the old TYZ in the SSDT again. This in may ways is a sad loss as he has ridden 10 or 11 SSDTs on this bike with little other than routine maintance being required. It wasn't a SSDT special either. He rode Scottish national and all the club rounds on the bike too. Is this some sort of record or has someone done more on one bike? Where's Big John when you need him.

What dates will the 2010 SSDT be held? Which Hotel would be best to stay at if Parc Ferme stays at the West End Car Park and I would not want a car?

  6. Dear All, Help! Has anyone been able to take out competition insurance recently? After Carol Nash discontinued their comp -inclusive cover last year, I had a frantic 2 hours ringing round every insurer I could find on the internet until eventually Bennets said they would cover competition usage along with TPF&T - I confirmed at leat 3 times on the phone converstation I had, that the policy covers road use in between sections whilst on the road. Then, when I come to check the policy 1 month before riding SSDT I discover that competition usage is specifically excluded. So - I have been explicitly mis-sold the policy which is annoying (they are currently "going throug…

In the last copy of YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE it mentioned visiting www.dunlopmotorcycle.co.uk to register your riding number for discounted tyres during the week. Tried looking there but ended up at a domain registration site. Anyone have any idea who to contact?

Plenty of people doing their Charity bit before and during the SSDT and for anyone that is not aware this is form the SSDT website Please Give Your Support The 3 ''Goons'' that were debating and answering questions last night all agreed that the Troops must continue in Afghanistan and this Charity needs supporting so ''Dig Deep'' and give generously **Note** Not the easiest place to get money from as the town Is full of ''Scotsmen'' and ''Yorkshiremen''..........................and Big John always has a habit of leaving his wallet at home the first week in May

  10. It is not the first time that the Gomez family name has appeared on the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) results sheets, but 2013 does mark a SSDT debut for Sandra Gomez (Gas Gas). By carrying the riding number one hundred and five, the twenty-year old Spanish female rider is emulating her brother Alfredo who also competed in this unique competition back in 2011. The Gomez family have a real trials pedigree with Alfredo having clinched the 2011 FIM Junior Trial World Championship whilst Sandra placed third in the Women's World Trial rankings last year. Although this is her maiden outing in the main event Sandra is no stranger to the Scottish Highlands with the youngster f…

The time of the SSDT is looming and there is a lot of riders out there without an entry .riders that will try every section. How many riders that have an entry will ask for 5s without trying using it to save time and energy to get round this event and claiming they have completed the event. To me this is taking short cuts.

CJB Photographic have just released their 2009 SSDT DVD...if you want to relive that rain (or see it for yourselves if you were lucky enough to avoid the first-hand experience!) you can get your copy at www.cjbphotographic.co.uk.

Ah with all the nice snow around prep for the SSDT has probably been hampered for most. Well by the time the snow has gone the local council might just be hampering us during the trial this year, see link below. http://www.lochaber-news.co.uk/news/fullst..._motorists.html This was in the local paper today GREAT!
