Is there commercial area in the parking lot? What I can find there normally? Any chance they accepting CC's or I should bring cash? And non Trial related item, but one that I should not come back home without it! A (very) good bottle of single malt whiskey! Is there any good shop in town? If not, is there any on the way? Those days, I cannot wait to the duty free shops in the airport 'cos they are not allowing liquids on board. have to buy it before... See you on Friday after noon!

With reference to the post regarding the moving of the SSDT start/finish area - please let us know your view. I must stress that a decision has not been made yet - we are listening !

Was thinking of a trip to Scotland to watch the Six day this year, is it allowed for spectators to take there bikes to go and watch some of the remote sections or is this not allowed. If this is allowed were are the best places to go and watch, please advise Thanks

Reet time for a new SSDT topic. Top 7 or 8 world riders not riding. Majority of the entry club riders. Nothing mega about the sections, straight forward traditional no stop section. Probably more spectators watching at Lagnaha farm on Monday "if used" than most British champ rounds will get, WHY? From a spectators point of view, why will you spend more time watching a majority club entry ride , than probably watching the top world riders go at it on the mega stuff ?

Just wondered how many people on here fitted a speedo to their bike for the SSDT. I am debating whether to bothor or not. This will be my second year riding Scotland and last year I had a speedo and horn. However the scruitineer's never even checked them etc. I know its the law to have a horn and speedo but I cant really rememer seeing many bikes with the correct items. I did a whole day with no rear mudguard and no number plate and the old bill didnt seem to worry as I parked my bike up next to them. I ride a Beta and fitted the standard speedo last year which I think lasted about an hour before it broke. This is probably my fault due to me crashing and falling …

I am trying to contact on behalf of the Tailrace Inn three couples who regularly come and watch the ssdt each year. They have booked in for the first week in May when the ssdt would normally start. Their names are:- Keith Sutton, Mr and Mrs Johnstone ans mr Eyre. If anyone knows any of them could you please get them to contact 01855 831777. as a long time supporter and watcher of the ssdt I think it has now become to predictable for to many years now we have not had the top continental riders after over thirty years with hardly a break I would like to see our top domestic riders put under the pressure that Michaud Vestrinan Shrieber Burgat etc brought to the Highland Classic.

Hi All, Daft question time: How hard is the SSDT? To put that in more words; I'm an average clubman that rides the clubbie route in Sarf Midlands trials. I've done so (despite a long break) for many years and usually survive a Sunday. I'm pretty fit (4 London Marathon finishes and many, many half marathins, 10k etc) and am unlikely to croak with a week of hard effort. As a follower of the sport for many years, as far as I'm concerned the SSDT is THE trial to do. It's on the bucket list... The question is, is it an attainable goal? Is an average clubmen going to record so many fives and damage themselves so badly as to incovenience others and generally get in the way?…

Well people some people ride the trial and are happy to get round and finish, this being an achievment in it's own. This year there are four hardy soles doing the trial so that others can get some happiness at the end of it. Click the link for further info. http://trialsvision.com/

If you're heading up from Englandshire for the Pre-65 or SSDT and normally go Glasgow -> Erskine Bridge -> Loch Lomond -> Crianlarich then life got a little bit easier over the past year. If you normally go up to Stirling then via Callander you can ignore this! The M74 motorway has now been extended into the centre of Glasgow so you no longer need to take the M73 then the M8 (which can be hell at certain times of the day) It's dead simple and as it's just one motorway straight in, you can't possibly get lost! As you approach Glasgow you would normally come off the M74 onto the M73 for a short distance then onto the M8. Don't. Stay on the M74. Follow the M…
