Youth Trials

Hi All, As you may have seen on previous posts regarding my son and his 125 I have now decided to get him on an 80. Im not sure which one though as Gas Gas have 3 models. On looking at the Gas Gas site he would be better off with the Cadet as this appears to have the 21" front and 19" rear wheels or may be the rookie would be better. He is a really good rider so im not sure what to go for. Can any one advise please. Thanks N

Sadly there are still instances of some parents not filling in entry forms correctly. Some don’t seem to appreciate that the entry form is a legal document and required to be correct in full for insurance purposes as well as getting their offspring in the right class. It is doubtful whether some parents ever read the small print. Karen Crabtree took sixty one entries for the Mansfield Maun B/C/D/ opening championship trial last Sunday. In that number twelve riders had no bike listed… The Bradford and Yeadon-Guiseley clubs are running youth trials on June 10 and 11 at Skyrakes and Brimham Rocks. Observers will be welcomed.

Hi, I just purchased a TXT 50 Boy and installed a 70 cc. kit on it. Does anyone know what jetting to use with this bigger motor? What mods could be made to the transmission to make it more direct in order for the Child to get power sooner and not wait until it revs. up like crazy.

on here front page http://www.trialscentral.com/cms/showartic...?articleID=5829 The championship for first place was subject to a couple of protests in the A class, but mention should be made of luke Walker (Sherco) who competed for the first time in the A's and would have finished 3rd had he not ridden out of class, having already wrapped up the B class champs. As the results stand Chris Short beats Richard sadler on the last round result as both were tied on points and wins.

We will soon start planing the final round of the British youth trials championship, and with it the indoor trial. I organised last years indoor all by myself from start to finish, and would not do it again unless it became a team effort. If there is enough intrest the IOWMCC may run it again, but we would like the opinion of everyone who attended last years event first. How many people would come to the Island if the indoor was run later in the year? One problem we found last year was that it used up people who should have been helping with the main trial on the Saturday, please let us know what you think and how important it was to the whole weekend etc etc.

After taking my two sons 8 and 11 yearrs old to the dirt bike show, I have decided to buy them both bikes for christmas. I've ordered a new 20" eco for my eleven year old but am on the look out for a 36v 16" for my 8yr old. The thinking is that maybe next year the 8yr old will move onto the 20" so should get plenty usage from the new bike. The question is what do I need to look out for when viewing / buying a second hand Oset, this is new to me and would hate to buy a dodgy bike for my sons present. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi, My 6 year old son is very keen on Trials, and I am looking to buy a bike in the spring. He has not ridden a motorcycle before, so I am thinking about looking at an auto (e.g Beta minitrial). Has any one got any advice regarding these bikes, and there suitability for use in competition. I know the traditional route for youngsters was with the TY 80, but my son has set his heart on a more "modern" looking bike, like the ones Dougie rides! Whilst he is 6 years old he has the height and build of an 8 year old, so I dont want a bike he will grow out of too soon. Hi, I have been riding normal club trials for a while now and finally decided to give a proper youth trial a bash! I have a few questions: 1.It says that machine examintion commences at 9:00am and if my start tim is at 11 does that still mean i have to be there at 9????????? 2.It says that during the inspection that tryres will be checked!! what does this mean????? will they not allow a turned tryes???? I have an older Beta 80 (with the cable clutch), all the newer manuals tell me to check the oil level with the sight glass...but I don't have one. Nor do I have a filler cap. How do I check levels and fill it?

Im 15 and ride a beta 125. What class would i be able to ride in the national trials? i want to try my first one soon as i hae been told i am good enough.

Consett Club start their popular Wednesday night series this weeek at Knitsley Mill Consett (See Events section). This year we will be introducting a kids route. It is a short lap for the main trial so we will be using the main sections (probably not all of them) but puting in a separate easy route suitable for kids. More than likely we will run it conducted and move the kids along the sections. The venue is excellent (woods & banksides) and the car parking is literally next door to a pub ! 6pm start so come along and the kids will have some fun while riding alongside the 'big trial' cheers John

Consett Club will be holding the next round of their popular Wednesday Night trial this week on the 11th at Knitsley Mill. Running alongside the main trial will be a kids route. Plan for this week is set up a couple of sections just for the kids, to let the trial get underway. We will then move to the main route and either use the easy route, or a modified version of the easy route. Kids seem to enjoy it as they feel part of the 'main trial', and also get to ride the 'big route' !! Come along - 6pm start and the kids can have some fun cheers John

Hello i hae a 13 year old son and at the moment he rides a 2000 sherco 250. He has got quite good so am thinking of getting a newer bike does anyone know the price for a 2008 sherco 250 thaks .

Well done to all the GB lads and of course to Alexz Wigg in particular as he has done the business by winning his first WTC event. Haven't had a chance to get to talk to anyone over there but I am so pleased that he seems to be getting the terrific results that he promised to do in the first few rounds. Good stuff. Gubian down in 8th aswell, even better!
