Hello, calling on all the people out there with a wealth of information and knowledge on cubs. I am hoping to find out which bike the forks I have, have came form so I can match a brake back plate to it. I am making a 1963 trials cub out of a standard T20, I have recently bought a set of heavyweight forks and yokes which are internal spring, as the T20SS and SH had of that year had - seemed best suited. So the problem is that the bottom members in the parts list say it should be p/n's H1117 and H1118 but he p/n's I have on the fork legs are H1119 and H1120. I have been through all the part manuals I can find for all bikes made by triumph from 58-64 and they only show …

TY175 questions but reed valves in general. In talking to a reputable engine builder he said that "in his experience a softer reed pedal worked better for trials applications." I have replaced my stock reeds with a set of Boysen reeds but couldn't feel any difference, thoughts? Could you tell a difference or is it an accumaltive increase with each little bit making it some what better? I didn't get to ask him about the metal reed stops on the reeds, would the work better in the stock positions or would they work better if you "bent" them so they would open wider or again would it be a waist of time and energy? This is all in search of the just a little more low end grunt…

So the message on the SSDT Pre65 webpages is that the trial will not be going over Blackwater in 2011 due to environmental considerations. That's a real shame. Nor will the route go over Callart Pass. Back to two way traffic on the Mamore Road. At least it's better than the ride back on the tarmac road although the 'new' sections on the roadside were good especially for spectators. Complaints have also been received from competitors about the severity of these two parts of the route. What does anyone think? Interesting.. everything about trials.. bikes and the people , are interesting. Some of these older twin shock bikes are as old as me.. how in the world do you guys find parts to keep them going ? Just wondering about? Say I found an older gas gas ? (1999) A 270 to be exact.. will I be able to get parts ? Someone told me it would be difficult.. but, then I see these old classics restored.. They are beautiful 😍 what's strange to me is... Why do I have an opinion? I know what looks/ style of bike I like. I like the looks of the gas gas bikes.. We'll, truthfully.. they all look basically the same to me. Maybe it's because I like to say "Gas Gas" ..?…

Hi again, I've uploaded some more footage, this time of the Old Codgers Trial 2005 once again held at Hungry Hill near Aldershot. I've had tp split into three parts as You Tube will only allow 10 minute maximum file lengths. It's a lot more comprehensive than the Talmag stuff. Once again, enjoy the sight and sound of some lovely old classics in action... well the sight at least as the audio seems to have somehow escaped.. grr... I have an Amal carb on my 73 Ossa Explorer. There is only one screw on the carb that adjusts air/fuel. My question is: since the screw is on the jug side of the carburetor, doesn't that make it a fuel screw? I always thought if a screw is on the aircleaner side of the carb, that made it the air screw. But there is no screw on that side of this carb. I have received different advice on this issue at events. If I back off on this screw, am I making it leaner or richer? And, what is a good method for adjusting these old carbs, (other than discarding them). Thanks

Does anyone know anything about this event? They used to be two seperate events but looks like they've been combined. It's on the ACU fixture list for 10/7 to be organised by East Midlands centre?? I've heard nothing about it, just wondered if anyone else has.
