  1. I need a black plastic universal rear fender/mudguard for a Honda TL 125 in a Sammy Miller frame.. I bought a Gonelli from Fecked, but they are short - sort of 3/4 length. I bought a second and tried joining them together, but the profile was wrong and it looked rubbish. They sell white and silver, and other colours are available, but apparently not black. I don't want to paint or use alloy ones. Any ideas?

Hi guys, Not sure if you will be able to help but I have an disassembled Bantam D5 frame which is partway through a trials conversion. I would like to change the headstock angle but can't any information on how much to change it. I am unsure of the original angle from when the bike is built up with original forks and rear shocks - I would like to increase both the front and rear by the same height, so if I could find the original angle of the forks when resting, I could tweak this by x amount until I have the angle I require, which will remain constant despite the height. Has anybody else done this modification and knows how much to change it by, or does anyone have …

  4. Hello, I am a 59 year old that has ridden motorcycles for years. I had a 1986 Honda TLR200 Reflex and a 1997 Gas Gas Contact 200. I would like to get into riding very easy trials type riding in the woods around my house, not competing. Used trials bikes in my area of Northern Indiana are hard to find and I would like to start tinkering around in the woods asap as this COVID-19 stay at home order is driving me nuts. There are two within 90 minutes of my home. One is a 1975 Yamaha TY175 ($1,400) and the other is a 1974 Suzuki RL250 ($1,000). Both seem to be in the same shape. My question is which one do you think would be the better bike for me?…

Hello all. Im in need of some advise of where I can buy plastics for a project I have here in New Zealand. They need to be universal fit plastic mudguards which would suite an 80's bike, TY etc. Ive found a couple of places further afield but would like to know if there are more local places which will have a more desirable delivery charge. Thanks in advance.

What is reconed to be the best product to line a leaking steel fuel tank? I have soldered all the leaks and tested it under pressure. However, I suspect that it won't be too long before other leaks develop. Thanks in anticipation

Hi all and a very Christmas. I am in the throes of Building a RE Crusader trials bike and having got all the parts off the bike that I don`t need I`m just a little concerned about the width of the frame at the point where the seat will go. Is there any practical way of narrowing that part so that I don`t have to go bandy-legged to ride it? I have tools and a welder I just need a good idea. Many thanks, Hazel

Hi All, Can someone help me identify the year of this frame number? It appears to be T20 M 55909? In reviewing Draganfly I don’t see that frame number sequence. Thanks in advance for any help! Bob

Hello all, I recently bought a Royal Enfield Crusader 250 which I am going to make a trials bike of. Mechanical stuff I am fine with but am a complete dunce when it comes to electrics. What I want to do is convert the electrical system so that the engine provides its` own sparks. There are 3 wires coming from the back of the engine that originate at the alternator, can any of you please tell me how to wire things things up so that a battery is not needed. I have the rectifier but no clue as to where to start or what to do. Any help would be great.

  15. Hi I want to remove two rusty, seized 6mm exhaust studs from a 45 year old Honda 4 stroke alloy barrel, as I need to install longer ones. I have soaked them in WD40 for 2 weeks. I have also heated the studs to cherry red. I then tried turning them, using two locked nuts, but they won't turn. I am afraid they will shear off if I put any more pressure on them. They are not currently snapped off, so I don't need to drill them out. However, I do want them out. What to do? Anyone have experience of doing this? Thanks

  16. Anyone know what bearings or bushes Sammy Miller used in his Honda TL 125 Hi-boy frames, around 1979? I have yet to take it apart to find out what's there. Thanks

Hi all, does anyone out there in the classic world know where I can get a replica Ariel HT trials frame from. Everyone I have contacted has either stopped making them or put the shutters up for an unspecified time as they are busy. I`m not afraid to pay but I just can find a source. Any help would be appreciated.

Any experiences of DIY zinc and/or nickel plating at home? Plenty of videos on YouTube. Success or failure? Tips and hints appreciated. Early Sammy Miller High Boy frames. Chrome or nickel? Can you nickel plate over chrome? Can you nickel plate over old, sound nickel plating?

Hi all, I`d like an opinion from some of you knowledgeable types. Re the bike in the photo - do any of you think it would make the basis of a good pre 65 trials bike or is it just too far "out"? Any comments are welcome.

  20. Started by stpauls,

I want to rebuild the wheels on a Honda TL 125 (150cc SM conversion), in a Sammy Miller High Boy frame, whose chrome (nickel?) plating is mostly still in excellent condition. Going to do it myself, along with many other jobs including patching the fuel tank and replacing the kick start ratchet mechanism, as necessary. I also want to polish all the alloy bits, including the hubs. Stainless or standard spokes? The cost seems to be at least double for stainless. It will be ridden in Classic trials a few times a year. Any thoughts?
