I have ordered an Evo and I want to change the front pipe, as this made a big difference to the way my Rev 3 ran. What aftermarket pipes are available for the Evos. I have found that S3 do one, and Arrow do a full system, pipe and silencer but this is

I've got an 08 Rev 3 270 which I use with a long ride kit. My friend has just bought a brand new Gas Gas 300 and now that I am riding with him I'm realizing that my 270 seems very thirsty. We rode together today and I must have used close to 4 litres of fuel to his two. We live and ride at altitude, typically riding from 3000ft to 5000ft in the French alps. My bike mostly seems to run well, but I would say it's a sluggish off a closed throttle especially when you are coming down a long decent off the throttle and you dip the clutch and give it a blip of throttle to get some oil flowing. It needs a really good handful before it runs cleanly. My guess is carb setup, but I…

I JUST made a deal to get a one and now I am on a quest to make it easier to kick start. I'm OLD!!! I had a thread on this on the General board - before I'd settled on a specific bike (and because I have a gal friend with the same issue) but thought you folks on this board might have more good ideas on this specific bike. I'm thinking of retarding the timing - maybe 5 degrees??? I'm also thinking of adding base gasket(s) to raise the cyl - maybe 1mm to 3mm??? OR I was thinking of making a 2mm to 3mm replica of the head gasket out of aluminum as another way of increasing the combustion chamber volume without changing port timing??? Do you know anything about how diffi…

I am in the market for an 2010 evo. I have ridden the 290 and like it but am getting lots of guys telling me to get the 250 instead. I cant get one to ride so must decide unridden. I think the 290 easier to calm down ala gearing, flywheel weight, base gasket and throttle if I find it too much than trying to beef up a 250. I will keep this bike three years or so dont want a bike that is underpowered. Am I seeing this wrong??? any input would be appreciated.

Received delivery of our first 2008 Beta today, many thanks to Mr Lampkin for his speedy service. Firsts things first got it out of the box and the pictures just don't do this bike justice you really have got to see it in the flesh. The white really works with the alloy and the decals are really eye catching. Beta have done lots of little mods that wern't listead and as you look aroung the bike it amazes me that they can improve it every year. Starting her up, the first thing you notice when you start it is how well it ticks over, imediatly you know the carb change and other related mods have had a massive effect. It ticks over so crisply and cleanly almost like the 12…

Looked at sight glass after washing bike and discovered whitish gunk on bottom of sight glass window. I'm assuming this is water? The oil on top looks good. Wouldn't oil float to the top? Old

My chain rubs my rear brake on my beta rev 3 It dosent seem to be bent but there is a bit of play in the bearing. There's some wear to the brake pedal where the chains been rubbing against it in the past. Anybody surfered this my solution at present is to get the grinder out and give the pedal a shave.

Hi guys, I went out today, fuel only lasted half the time it normally does. I found the bike leaking with the fuel switched on out of the carb, as pictured. It was only the outlet circled in red that leaked, the other hoses did not. I've been practising launching the bike off a 3ft drop off and jumping it using banks, could landing hard have effected the floats or the needle valve in some way?

I have read the Beta clutch sticky, had already tried about everything there except the glue removal (which will be next when I get back to it) and wondering what else might work. -2003 Beta Rev 3. -Not a slipping problem, but a cold sticking AND a sticking when in operation. Does not fully release consistently, so tight section require some back brake, which is inconsistent. Either drags through and continues some forward motion, or the back brake unexpectedly frees the clutch and puts a sudden anchor to forward motion. -We are at least the third owner, have owned it about 7 years, with almost no use the last three years. Has enough use this year that I don't think st…

I picked up a brand new Beta 200 yesterday. The dealer told me not to park it facing down hill as the 'carbs on these are prone to flooding'. I took the bike for a run up and down a few small hills and petrol began to pour out of the carb over flow. Even when I got the bike into the car park and on the level, the petrol continued to pour out until I turned off the petrol tap. Has anyone else had this problem? Mod Edit - email address removed as the spambots will pick it up and fill your inbox with crap!

After reading another post O.A.S mentioned the fuel injected 2 stroke beta! Is there any news/pics/info on this bike or is it myth?

Hi, I sadly seized my 2010 290 Evo (only 72hrs). I fell off and the throttle cable came out of the handlebar housing so the bike hit full revs on its side. the engine wouldn't cut, and it wasn't till the carb drained that it turned off. Not realising that the throttle cable was stuck i started it again and the same thing happened and this time it seized. So got the barrel Nikasiled and fitted a new piston and rings. The bike now runs but with very little grunt to it. It revs and starts fine, but soon as you try and move there is no power at all. If you cruise around in first and give it a blip of the throttle there is no power to lift the front up. I…

I am new to the Trials world and bought a "like new" Rev 3 and with the help of this forum, I have been working my way through a number of issues stemming from a "like new" bike. Went to change the tires this weekend and believe I have discovered the reason as to why the front went flat and when I pulled the rear off, the valve stem gave way to a cup of green slime draining out. Referencing the attached photo, I would appreciate thoughts on the best way forward, such as: Is it worth trying to save and rebuild the rims? If I get new wheels, should I go with the Morads or is there a better alternative? New hubs or try to leverage existing hubs/ …
