Steering head bearings in my Synt are shot but can't find them listed anywhere. The bearings are 42mm OD x 20mm ID x 15mm deep. I think they are the same size as lots of other bikes but anyone know what other models bearings will fit?

Hi all, thanks to all the people that helped me with my recent querie regarding insurance for my EVO. I have finally got sorted with a fire & theft policy form DOODSON insurance. I contacted a guy called Jimmy who knew the bike and the issues around getting insurance for this type of bike, he couldnt have been more helpfull. on another note, all the people that said they have got TPF&T insurance i urge you to check your policy to make sure you have the correct bike details on as most of the bigger well known brokers wouldnt quote on an EVO , only on the REV 3. cheers Paul

I've got my carb off and going to clean it. I'd like to know what size the carb is in case I need a bowl gasket. From what I'm seeing it looks to be a VM26. This is for an`01 Beta 250 Rev 3 Not an `02.

Bike: Evo 4T 300, 2012 I took the carb off the other day and didn't initially notice this rubber "cap" had fallen off from somewhere. It was lying on the top of the crankcase when I went to put the carb back. It was lying just under where the carb sits. It has a hollow interior, just as if it fits over a spigot of some sort. I cannot see where it has come from. The only possible place I can see is that it fits over where the mixture screw is, just under the engine side of the carb venturi. Can anyone help with its proper location? Incidentally the rubber has already perished, hence the split which can be seen in the photo. Thanks for your collective wisdom.

Whenever I ride my bike fuel is escaping from the breather pipe and down through the cable tidy rubber onto the crank cases. What can i do to prevent it ? The evo cap looks a similar design to my rev 3 and 4 cap and they never did this. I read a previous post and someone suggested a one way valve. Ive looked and because the inner diameter of the breather pipe is 3mm no valve ive seen is small enough. Its going to ruin the paint on my engine if it persists. Could the cap be faulty ? Would a longer pipe with a higher loop above the cap prevent this ? Could i even run a longer pipe down to near the swing arm where the carb overflows exit or would this cause syphoning ? I see…

My Son has a Beta Evo 80 which has started to get very hard to tick over evenly ( tickover speed varies) and needs a lot more choke to start even when hot. I have replaced plug, cleaned air filter, cleaned carb to no avail.. Appreciate these bikes do not have the refinement of the larger models but wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. Ironically at a trial this weekend someone else was having a similar problem on a very new beta.. Any thoughts from Beta specialists

That was fun. Started bike up yesterday to ride an event and felt it was a bit boggy off the bottom. Went to adjust the mixture screw and it the screwdriver just kept going in. Looked into the hole to find the screw had bailed. Never seen that before. Now it has a Jitsie adjuster and that's harder to get to than the original. Time for the spring disassemble and clean on the Keihin. I think I'll cut a groove in the Jitsie screw so I can turn it without forcing my fat fingers in under, over and around the muffler.
