Just done an oil change on the nephews 2015 Beta Evo 125 it's been 5 months since it was last done by myself (long over due) i put 500ml in then but when drained the old oil out there was only 100+ ml in there so where has it gone?? there has been no signs of it leaking anywhere. His bike does smoke a bit from the exhaust unlike the other betas we have of same age and i have cleaned out and repacked the exhaust which helped. Is there anyway there could be an internal leak and the oil is getting into the cylinder and burning off ????( I'm Doubtful but thought I'd ask the question ) Cheers

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with the process of bleeding the clutch on a 1997 Beta Techno 250. I have tried almost every conceivable way, back bleed vacuum bleed and even the traditional way of pumping master cylinder but all to no avail. I've even removed servo and filled void with fluid hoping that when I reconnected everything and pushed piston back it would force air out. I'm at the end of my tether guys please help. Thanks in advance ?

So, I need to change the big end bearing, because there is up and down play. I understand that this is a difficult thing, and I need to bring the motorcycle to a motorcycle service. My question is: what do I need to buy? I buy a new big end bearing and that's all? Or I need also a new crank case gasket, head gasket? And what else? Another question: my engine is split now. Do I need to bring the whole engine to the motorcycle service? Or can I get out somehow the crank shaft (or whatever) and bring only this part to the service? If yes, then how can I get out the crank shaft?

I'm fast coming to the conclusion that my bike ('97 Techno) is shaping up to be a 'problem child' - No sooner do i get the leaking header tank replaced, the busted levers sorted out (Bought new AJP levers to suit my AJP branded brake and clutch cylinders, only they're offset adjuster levers and had to be modded to fit), the new carb on, my Aprilia fan mod squared away and a new fuel tap fitted....one with a lever that actually works, then this happens.... Bikes been stood up for around a week and a half while i waited on parts and sorted out the issues above. The old fuel tap had no handle so it was stuck in the on position. Was firing first kick last time i used it …

I'm never quite sure what the reception will be when I post about problems and fixes with my bikes so here's my impressions so far. Fixin's, Got an Akropovic pipe Got Vforce reeds Removed the excess glue from between the pads and leveled and smoothed the tabs on the fiber clutch plates and removed two springs Reset float level and re-jetted the Keihin with a 50 pilot and moved the needle clip up to the second notch Removed the lighting harness and re-grounded the kill switch to the coil ground Dropped the fork tubes in the triple clamps to the top notch Adde…

Ive got a Beta 250 REV3 2008. It has had a engine rebuild after only meeting from dropping it in the water, buggrer !! It has been professionally rebuilt in a dealer garage but from then on it has had this problem of cutting out while going down hill just in the worst place of a section. As far as I know the carb has not been touched during the rebuild? Should I be looking at the carb float setting or tuning maybe. I have since herd this might be a common problem with the Beta but not had any information as to how the solve this issue. Please help as I keep dropping a five in sections when the bugger cuts out !!

About every 3rd or 4th ride, when I start the bike, it runs rough. Poor idle. Like the timing is messed up. I ride it around for a while - that seems to help. Other times, it starts right up, idles excellent. I noticed a couple of comments from other Beta 4T owners having the same problem. If anyone else had this problem with their Rev 4T - how did you correct it?

Hi folks, does anyone know if it is possible to swap an ajp 4 pot caliper over to a 2 pot caliper. the reason i ask is the front cal on my 2004 beta rev 3 250, is shot. its a bit dear, me being poor, to buy a new one. the 2 pot caliper looks like it will fit, but not sure. i would be happy, i think, with a 2 potter. the 4 pot has been nothing but trouble since i got the bike. thank in advance..

I found it a struggle many years back when I had a Rev 3 250 to screw and unscrew the right hand exhaust bolt. But on the 125 it's even tighter. My long reach t handle allen bars cant do the job. Normal allen keys cant get near it. Ive resorted to fiitting a hexagon headed nut and using a reverse spanner to tighten it up but it takes ages as you only have about 30 degrees rotation of the spanner. Would a ball headed allen key fit an allen bolt on the right exhaust bolt ?

Hi guys, rode my bike for the first time today and i noticed something wrong.... A)My bike doesnt fell torky, firm, and safe... Throttle response is slw when in low rpm range and has some kind of slack (not cable slack....id rather call it lag or latency...throttle opens but takes longer than usual to the engine to respond) B)Stalls when pointing downhill or when riding a stoppie C)Huge fuel consumption D)Fuel leaking (thought it was a miinor leak when in odd angles... but its not minor at all) I really think i have a fuel level problem in the carb... Seems like the float isnt working propperly and floods my intake when the bike leans forward.... Some of the gas is…

Here is a way of putting a number board on an Evo, while retaining the headlight. If you use a transparent number board then you can still use the light. You don't need to alter the brake or clutch cables, or anything else. You will need: A number board. Some long cable ties. 4 30mm lengths of soft plastic tubing - 10mm - 20mm bore. drill + 5mm bit. (You may need to join short cable ties together to make long ones). Look at the pictures to see how I did it. I have used this for the last year, with a trial every week and I have not had any issues with it at all. Also, I have a drinks bottle carrier attached with cable ties, It is sitting on a piece of inner-tub…

Probably been asked a thousand times... What 2 stroke ratio do you all recommend on my 2010 Evo 200? I've just got the bike in great condition with no issues other than the exhaust is clogged with the black gunk... The guy was using a 60:1 ratio which I personally think is a little rich and could have caused the exhaust to gunk up So... Question 1. What ratio? Question 2. Best way to clean the exhaust?

Hi, My current trials iron is a Scorpa SY 250. I enjoy riding it but it feels like a bit of a lump after using a Beta Evo 4t on a trails experience day. Im 5'7 and about ahem, top end of 13st so assumed id be looking for a 250. My other bike is a KTM 200 EXC and is more than capable for me. Should i stick to a 250 or might a 125 have enough power to play with? Cheers Jon
