I've heard the use of blue frames was something to sponsership by 'Pernod'......or am I wrongly assuming its anything to do with a drink as I used to like a stiff Pernod and black when I was a yoof ...this bottle of my favorite Caister Soul Weekender tipple isn't really in SWM colours ...although from memory before mixing Pernod is a pale yellow as it is in this photo (unless it's someones 'sample') and there is blue in the 'Paris' on the bottle...bit tenuous though

Does anybody have a colour or RAL code number for the swm yellow paint or one that’s a good match many thanks

hey guys Thanks for the help with the ignition, and the kickstarter.... worked perfectly, then the kickstarter siezed and when i tried to get to it i broke the clutch basket... ? anyways, i am wondering if anyone has their clutch basket off and if you can confirm where this washer goes lol and obviously i lost my spring when I took off the kickstart lever so if anyone has the right spring size avail i will be needing to get one. and a couple of ball bearings too. I work in a dirt floor shop so when small stuff goes flying its game over lol....

Was watching the clip TooFastTim posted on the Ventoux Trial Classic 2011,(very good it was to) all the SWM's appeared to have Betor forks, are they so much better ?

Has anyone tried a OKO carb on there SWM 320? If so how did it work?

Howdy again Gang! When I took my TL320 down to Moab last month, with a fresh change of the fork oil to ATF, I found that the seals leaked a great deal. I decided to change them, so I ordered a set of seals for 35mm Betor forks. They came as a set of four separate seals, apparently meant to be stacked on top of each other for a double-lip seal. Last night, I dismantled the forks and removed the old seals. The old seals were not stacked, they were a single seal on each side, each with a double lip inside. One fork leg was embossed with the words: "Honda F seal, 9125-273-000". So it would seem that someone had the fork legs machined to accept a Honda seal, though I suspect…

Its alot easier to change the timing by opening/closing the points, rather than taking the flywheel off and moving the back plate. But, is there any reason not to do it this way ? Thanks

Meant to pass this on earlier. Did a classic trial last weekend and one of the guys who stopped for a chat about Speedy, had two SWM TL320's from new, bought from kershaws in Essex. He told me that back the in day he used clutch springs from a Honda MT50 moped....was a common mod' back then? Just thought I'd throw that into the SWM melting pot of 'clutch fixes'.

guys any ideas on piston suppliers for rotax trials engines, do wiseco do any thing suitable ? going to make a big effort to get bike sorted next year , just stuck at the moment on finding rotax parts since peter knight retired.

I want to fit a Honda CRF clutch perch with the quick adjuster (hot start may double as my decompressor?) they also have a good action too....saw one on a Beamish at a trial and thought good idea but... My clutch cable has the smaller end nipple, is it possible to get 'convertor' to go to the more normal larger size? Many thanks

I want to modify my rear pedal to suit my relocated footrests....needs to be 2" down, 2" further back and for my own comfort 1"further out. Anyone care to share their experiences mod'y rear pedals? Cheers

hi,i`m hope someone out there can help me before i kill myself.i have a 82 swm gs 250 that i race with the modern bikes.it goes like hell but the brakes suck.it has the stock hubs fitted with ebc shoes.i sand the hubs,sand the shoes and clean both with brake cleaner. what am i doing wrong??any ideas to try,front disc brake is next mod if i can`t get the brakes to stop better,,thanks...johnnyb

I competed in my first trial last weekend on the TL320. I managed to make a grand mess of the event, and found that I killed the engine in nearly every section. Never had that problem in all my practice on level ground, but there was little level ground at the trial! A couple of the old timers suggested that I lower the gearing on the bike. Several people independently commented that the bike seemed to be geared rather high. Since my existing rear sprocket is looking well-worn, I suppose this is a good time to consider a gearing change. So what gear combinations work for those of you competing on TL320s?

Hi all, after a few years of talking about it I finally bought a twin shock, and here it is what a beauty!! http://www.normandym...ry/IMG_6444.JPG OK so its going to need a lot of work to get it right, however under all the grime frame and side panels are not that bad. The engine is going to need a complete rebuild and a barrel as that's missing, but for what I paid for it I expected that. My question to you guys that know, was there ever a SWM in this colour scheme as it seems to be original rather than repainted or powder coated? I have a 1980 SWM TL320 that I have a new seat for. The old one was strapped on. Anyone have a good way to mount the seat and be able to take it off easy to work on filter? This one doesn’t have the quick release because at one time it had a metal tank. Thanks

Hello ppl, does anyone know if Jumbo forks ever left the factory with these overly long blue fork boots ? The boots on mine are much shorter black jobs, possibly not the original dust boots/covers. Refer attached.

This week I was lucky enough to buy a 1979 Gunaco only to find out today that in fact I have bought a nice bike with a completly knackered motor. It did rattle a little on the test ride but after stripping it down we found everything hugely worn and needs replacing plus a rebored etc etc etc. Plus when we lent it over to look at the clutch it lost oil from a cracked casing behind the engine sprocket, where a chain has jumped at some time. It was sold as only needing a make over with assurances the motor was sound and in good nick. To the sellers credit after a quick phone call he has agree to take it back and reimburse and or participate in putting the engine right …
