Any good on fantic 240?

I bought a 1980 SWM TL320 last year that was in need of a lot of work. I'm fixing it up to compete in vintage trials. I'm replacing the swingarm bushings and have had a heck of a time just removing one bushing. Anyone have a better way to remove and replace these bushings? I have a few different ideas but thought I would ask here for some advice. Thanks

Anyone know what number oil seal is used for the SWM Kickstart shaft? Mine is leaking, and I'd like to get it locally if possible.

Hi guys, anyone know of a source for TL320 fuel tank to frame mounting rubbers...the doughnuts that sit at the front of the tank that the tank 'slides' into? I spoke with Martin at SWM.Moto and no luck....must be something around that can do the job...Honda TL125 ones won't! A quick google finds tank rubbers out there but I don't have old rubbers to go by - mine are missing - I can try and source some rubbers but I need a photo of one to go by and some dimensions would be real handy too. If anyone could help on that front I'd be grateful and pass on what I find. many thanks

SWM's and earlier Aprilia's had the PHBH 26 FS carb that had a petrol screw, later Aprilia's have the PHBH26 FS which appears to have an air screw ? Are they any better, or just different ? The one I'm thinking of using has a small brass connection which I think was a vacum to remove any build up from the crank case, but didnt work and was usually blanked off. Can anyone confirm ? Does anyone know how to wire a cut out button on the TL 125? The wires to the coil end in a multipin connector with no obvious way of introducing a wire. Any advice appreciated as, apart from the stuck throttle scenario, I'm getting fed up stalling it every time I want to walk a section.

Hi , i am halfway through re-packing the mid box and seperate silencer on my TL 320 . Have cut open the mid box and de-coked it ,re-packed it and am going to weld it up -ok. I have now cut open the back of the rear silencer (the side that usually rubs on tyre) to find that inside it only has baffle plates and no core or packing- Can anyone please tell me if this is correct and should it have cores/packing and has anyone re-packed theirs? Thanks

Here's my Jumbo project. I bought it as an unfinished project. It's slowly coming together. The tank was as knackered as you'd expect of a 30 year old bike, found a guy who polishes them up and he did a fantastic job, Now I need to make up some badges. Thinking of doing it in CAD and having them printed. If any one could provide straight on pictures of the right and left badges I'd much appreciate it. I'm happy to share the CAD file when done to anyone interested

This all wheel drive SWM was built in 1981! It was a Prototype, they competed with it once and the FIM banned all wheel drive bikes. If anyone else knows anymore about this Prototype or have more pictures, please post them!

Thought I was paying too much as Ebay ad said it didn't run,but by the time I did the "Buy It Now" he'd got it going.Engine sounds terrific! Runs beauty! So Smooth,quietest running 2stroke I've ever heard :-) Gonna need alot of tweaking to get it as effective as My Fantic 240,but progress is already being made,have clutch down to easy two finger/OKay but distracting 1 finger action,will try taking out a couple of clutch springs next.Brakes are strong,rims round,tires hard as stone ;-) no oil in forks,rear shocks leaking from not being ridden. Footpegs are miserable,will cut those pristine mounts and never tweaked(Or even come in contact with anything other than a bootsol…

I have been wanting a SWM trials bikes since I was in high school in the early 80s. I got to ride a 81 TL 320 for a day and really liked it. It handles as good as some of the modern trials bikes I have had! Has awesome power and torque! I felt very confident on the bike. It took me a long time but last year I finally found a 80 SWM TL320. It's in rough shape needs a complete rebuild, I probably paid way too much and it's still not finished. When it's finished it will be my main trials bike for vintage trials. I would like to find another TL for back up also an Enduro GS SWM for vintage cross country. Where do you find these bikes? I look on Craigslist, eBay all the…

Hi All, Just been out for a spin on my TL 320 and when loading the bike up in second on decent banks there was a slight clunk - like a quieter version of the a chain jumping the sprocket. 1st was Ok and bike is shifting smoothly etc. I have had the clutch apart recently to change springs and was wondering if the clutch basket nut may have come loose. Would it have those symptoms if this was the case or could the dogs on the gears have worn slightly in second? Any help appreciated.

Gaunaco is a peruvian laama type animal, but what does the TL NW mean in the name?

I am sure its on here and been discussed before, but could some one just remind me the weight and amount of oil per leg for a jumbo please. Thanks

I have a Moto Gori 125, bored out to 175cc - i have been told, though not done any measurements...... Please can anyone confirm the correct amount of engine oil i need, the rotax unit is a big lump & would imagine would need a fair bit. Only rode a couple of trials on it - if anyone is interested, bike could also be for sale. thanks

Don't have any history for this engine, but it starts and runs well. Really nice for approx the first 1/3, but isn't keen to keep going. I don't think it's carburation as it runs so well at the bottom. I'm going to check the timing first. It's had a new plug with no difference. How about disc valve timing ? The engine originally was from an Aprilia, but is running with a SWM air box and exhaust. Don't thing either are part of the problem ? Also don't think/hope that's it electrical, unless anyone has had similar experiences. Thanks in advance. Ross

Anybody looking for a good swm have a look on woobly wills, Gary the seller is a good guy and the price seems very reasonable for a bike of this spec in this condition. Has anyone tried an oko carb on a swm (disc valve 280cc engine model) What was the result and what jetting did you go with? Dave
